I've spoke with Bjorn and I am sure he does great work. The issue I have is not with him per se but rather the cost involved to ship the camera to and from Europe.
Thanks for the input.
Good Luck

Re: Silver Reclamation
Given the price of silver combined with the cost of shipping I think I would be better off stripping the film of the silver. Unless people are going to pay me at least $40 per roll plus cover the cost of shipping there is more value in the silver. Plus, I would be able to use my exposed short ends t...

Silver Reclamation
I have dozens of rolls of film that are just old and I doubt I am going to shoot. Even if I did shoot them I don't think I would like the look of the color shifted grain. So, what is the best way for me to reclaim the silver in this film? I have access to a crucible for melting it's small but will h...

Thanks TScan
It sounds like maybe I should pass on Willard.
Unless someone else has some good things to say. Anyone?
Good Luck
PS--Death and I were talking about you a couple weeks back. Hope you're doing well.

Hi Who has used these guys? http://willardengineering.com/ Are they worth their salt? It's been a while since posting. My life has taken away from shooting except for one very good client that I will always pick up the phone for. But, I do have a hankering to shoot some S8 here and need to get some ...

Re: easiest way to open a super8 cartridge for home processi
+1 on ChrisGavin's method. I have been turning the spindle backwards until it breaks then pulling the film out with some slight pressure on it for years. Seems like anything else is just going to add another layer of complications. Staple two lengths together and whirl away in your G3 tank. Good Luck

Beaulieu Service
Hi
Is Bjorn still working on Beaulieu cameras? Website for him? Email? I don't know if the email address I have is good.
My 4008ZMII needs some love.
Thanks
Good Luck

Re: Alphacine in Seattle closing lab
I liked Forde a lot. But, never was a big fan of Alpha Cine. There were water spots on my film more than once and their "clean and prep" never seemed to be much other than adding more leader than they would otherwise. When Forde was bought by Alpha I stopped using them unless I had no othe...

Re: Kodak Touts Film Labs
Got the same email this morning.
The writing is on the wall. And, it's not looking good.
Wasn't surprised when Alpha Cine closed though. I was never a big fan of their processing.
Good Luck

Re: Self-processing B/W
I just dusted off the G3 tank to process a few rolls myself.
Very good results with D11, R9 Bleach, Sodium Sulfite, D76 as well as D76 for negative only processing but do find that higher contrast would be nice.
Hope it works out.

Re: arri 16 sb viewfinder problem
Not really. My guess is the turret is bent/messed/fucked. The lenses are off and for as little as you paid the seller knew it. An Arri S/B takes a nose dive to the deck and it will generate enough force to not only destroy a lens but push the turret in enough to be screwed forever. I think you bough...
