Re: Dangers of Digital Technology
Almost nobody had anything extremely important in their computers back then, not anything that is still important today anyway. Huh? Believe me when I say they won´t quit supporting jpegs. They just won´t. I pretty much do believe you, but "believe me when I say" isn't exactly a roc...

Re: The movie I'm making this summer....
Okay, so I've figured out how to let my daughter know it was all fake. The jeweled necklace with a pendant will be real and we will be taking it to a jeweler to have it verified as part of the documentary. I will have a hidden engraving already on it that can only be read with a magnifier. He will ...

Jim, thanks for the news....and your helpful analysis thereof.
And while it might be a tick shy of outright solving the problem, I do have a *lot* of S8 wedding shoots this summer....

Re: A return to S8!
Yeah. I've never needed a back up with my 4008 but it seems that it has been in a case way to long. It needs a good cleaning. Maybe that will be on my list of things this coming Summer... Good Luck This summer....so the gig is a ways away? It's great to have a solid trusty cam, but these things, (m...

Re: A return to S8!
Finally after not having shot S8 in long long time I have convinced a director to let me shoot some of it for an upcoming gig. Don't know when/where/how I will use it exactly as we are still working through some stuff but he is open to it. There are a few scenes I can think of that may work with so...

Hardly unpredictable after 500 years of use...?MovieStuff wrote: That doesn't make oils bad but they are unpredictable as a stable painting medium and change is expected.
The bottom line is that oils are superior because their aroma reminds me of my youth. ~:?)

Re: I know. OT but I sold three paintings!
I like to do a lot of dry brush and oils really don't lend themselves to that technique. Oils is a very wet on wet medium. Roger Just start w/a lot of turps (under-painting), and go from there. Fat over thin, as they say. Turpy stuff will be ready for dry brush the next day. That said, very nice ac...

Re: where can I do the HD super8mm transfer in Toronto?
Can anyone tell me where I can do the HD super 8mm transfer very well in Toronto? Seems like everyone transfers their super 8mm films to HD now. And how much per foot charge? 0.18 cents? thanks We can do it for you for 20 cents a foot or less if you have volume. 20fps real-time using Sony Z1U,...

Re: Nizo S48 question
Thanks, but I made a mistake. I should have said S480 (instead of 48), in same class as S560 and S800. S560 and S800 definitely allow shutter to be locked open. So my revised question: can you do it with the S480? Rick go here - http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.sendeancameras.co.uk/...

Re: Small camera split image
Hello! Thanx for Your quick reply Mitch (I just read through the ... fantastic 2006 follow focus thread). oh geez...:) So the somewhat stuck needle is a common problem with this camera. Is it "possible" to repair? Converting to manual only is easy - if you need to fix the internal meter y...
