Tasma 16mm film

It looks like Tasma in Russia offer three black and white 16mm movie film stocks, in lengths as short as 30m (100ft).

Has anyone ever used any of these? Are these just "made to order" products with a minimum order of tens of thousands of metres, or can they be bought in realistic quantities?

I note that they are double perf, so it would be nice to get Mr Nowill to do a Standard 8 version.

I used some of their 2005 dated 35mm still film a few years ago and it was far superior to anything Kodak or Fuji could offer (in my opinion) - super fine grain and ultra sharp with high contrast at 100 ISO.

Any info would be appreciated. I can't seem to find it on sale anywhere.

I have tried a number of times over the last few years to find out about tasma film. The closest I got was when I had a contact in the Ukraine email them. The answer they received was that the only motion picture film they had available was in 35mm.
But if you do find a way, let me know as I would go in on a purchase with pleasure.

Tasma(Tacma) has been on my radar for some time. I sent an email but got no response(not in russian). My understanding is that will do a special order for about $10000. But I am not too keen on sending $10000 to Russia with the hope I will receive something in return. I believe they have a distributor in Moscow that will handle foreign transactions.

Such a shame, because the quality of the still films is (or was as of 2005) excellent.

Like the elusive North Korean film, this one may remain out of reach...

I am not sure whether this helps, but when looking into the possibility of trying Tasma 16mm film, I came across the following English language web page: http://tasma.ru/en/products/22.

It seems that 16mm film is double perforated and so can be used in both older and newer cameras. It is not on daylight spools, however, but is on cores.

The web page also seems to imply that ordering is relatively easy.

I couldn't find any information on processing, however.

Is anybody going to take it further?

Sent an email asking if any samples were available for purchase, and what their terms would be (minimum order/price etc).

Not a sausage heard back.
