Compositional principle of "looking space"

Post by rjmluke »

I recall a compositional principle of a character's looking space. That is the space allowed in front of a subject's eye. If only the character's top of the head can be seen in frame, what can this say, cinematographically? Thanks, hope we have a good discussion.

Well, I think that would depend almost entirely on context, as that shot alone would say very little.

Or maybe I'm misunderstanding your question..?
