Re: When was the last time you shot real movie film?
Okay, we had the shoot today. 8 rolls of Vision3 and Vision2 Day progressed very smoothly except for realizing at one point that the director (my wife) had given me once a 500T instead of 200T, and I had overexposed it two stops. My bad though for not giving specific instructions when asking her to bring "the next cartridge"..
Beaulieu ran well and the hip hop dance will probably look quite good with the fast shutter speed. We had a sunny day, but had some sort of very light cloud-fog in the air, as the light wasn't that hard but instead a little diffused. For the first time I also rented and used myself a butterfly frame and some silent sail for it, but as we had scenes with lots of people it wasn't used that much. Neither was the 1.2kW HMI, which was like a torch compared to sunshine. However, in the shadow it did have its uses.
Really interesting day with film. Even if we were a bit short on hands, having my wife do directing & wardrobe, my brother as a grip & "reflector man" and myself shooting and producing. And trying to find the night before the shoot why my Ansmann ACS110 wasn't able to charge my external battery through the camera. Fortunately the charging worked when done outside camera!

I've shot 4 rolls of Ektachrome 100D this year. One roll was Super 8 shot on my Minolta Autopak 8 D6. The other 3 were Regular 8mm shot on my Bolex P4. The regular 8mm footage looks awesome. The Pan Cinor lens on the P4 performed well. Also the regular 8 footage is rock solid when projected. There's something about shooting reg 8mm that I like very much. Also the Bolex P4 is a joy to use.

My wife and I went floating on the Yakima river with some friends today and I shot some Super 8 footage of it. I had to put the camera in a plastic bag to keep it dry and pulled it out when I wanted to shoot.

Haven't shot any movie film lately. I've been doing medium & large format still photography up to 8"x10", but have dusted off a couple S8 cameras and am planning on starting up again.

I'm about to send off 3 rolls of Wittner PXR100 Standard 8 that I shot between 4 August and 1 September. Beginning and end feature the same couple of friends of mine - first in Heidelberg, then at the Dorset Steam Fair.

I have 1200ft of 35mm Fuji 64D sitting loaded in Arri mags for a shoot that didn't happen. I think I need to find something to shoot. The film was almost free. Maybe I should write a 3 minute short?

I shot 8 rolls of 100D between June and August. All family stuff.
I also shot 2 rolls of Ektachrome 160 Sound film!
I have just ordered some Fuji64T in super 8 carts from Wittner for an up and coming short film project.
I have also ordered a load of 100D for some short films I have been commissioned to make this autumn!
I rarely pick up a video camera these days!

Last time was 1992, I think. Before that my filming history dates from 1966! Have had quite a couple of cameras and now own a Nizo 801 Macro (doesn't work well) and a Leicina Super RT1 (as always without a flaw). Have ordered 5 new Ektachrome 100D's after having seen a couple of my old films.

In the last month I have shot approximately 200 ft of Ektachrome 100D UltraPan8 test footage. In the lab at the moment.

Re: When was the last time you shot real movie film?
Today (Sept 22) I have shot my first S8 film (Ektachrome 100D) since 1992 with my Leicina Super RT1. Camera was doing its job as if it never had been in a kind of hibernation. And now waiting for the results...
