The no.w.here lab in london is running a cameraless film workshop on the 9th and 10th September.
The course will look at how artists such as Len Lye, Norman McLaren, and Stan Brakhage worked directly on the film surface to create complex and detailed works of art.
The course will look at works of art by these artists, and participants will spend a day and a half creating their own pieces using the same techniques.
Participants will also be shown how this practice relates to the equipment in the lab such as the optical printer, contact printer, and rostrum camera.
