I hope that, given the public funding they are benefiting from, their products will be prized accordingly...

Let's hope for some ciné products quick. On reel or core stocks shouldn't be too difficult. Super-8 cartridge is a bit more cumbersome. If they have a machine then they merely would have to acquire cartridges from Kodak. Or work together with ADOX.
Kind regards,
André

I'd be more than happy to buy S/8 film on spools/cores and load it myself. It's not such a big issue after all, and when Wittner offered this material, it was possible to spare a nice bunch of bucks...

For some good mileage they need to supply average filmers too. Most cannot load cartridges by themselves.Maurizio Di Cintio wrote:I'd be more than happy to buy S/8 film on spools/cores and load it myself. The trick is of course to supply affordable film and cranck up usage in that way.
It would be best if a S8 cartridge could kept below Euro 20 and there were some good processing suppliers who service below Euro 10. Including taxes!
Kind regards,
André

About the € 10 for processing I am afraid I have to say it sounds rather unrealistic: even right after the end of the Kodachrome era, almost 10 years ago, there were no labs charging less than € 10, Actually way more...aj wrote:Maurizio Di Cintio wrote:I'd be more than happy to buy S/8 film on spools/cores and load it myself. There's now a survey online: https://filmferrania.squarespace.com/survey/

They could purchase carts for super 8 from Kodak. Reels for reg 8 are probably easier and cheaper.
Personally I would love a colour reversal super 8 product, preferably priced at under £20 per cartridge and for the E6 process.
That and B&W film in 35mm and 120 formats for me.

I note that Ferrania themselves say that their first priorities will include super 8 cine film

Very nice to see a wide roll slitter in operation and a 35mm perforator in slow motion I think.jpolzfuss wrote:http://www.filmferrania.it/news/the-cou ... egins/2014
