I left Georgia a while ago. I was only there for University--UGA. Then I left and finished in Montana. Now I am drinking beer in Seattle.

It would be great to get back down there at some point. Where in Georgia are you thinking about moving to??

Good Luck

Thanks for the "good luck", I appreciate it. Im headed back to Sumter county which is about 60 miles SW of Macon and a pretty good trek from Athens. I have a nice old cottage there now that Im "fixing up" and where I am already becoming the eccentric old guy with the cameras. Everyone just smiles and waves. I pretty much love that about the deep south.

Good luck to you there in Seattle. I hear the beer is great. I havent found any micro brewed beer down there but theres a good supply of green corn whiskey.

My uncle Dube tried to start a brewery years ago but when he sent his beer in to the state to be analyzed they told him his "horse had diabetes!"

Ahhh...The Corn-Whiskey. I used to get jars of "Georgia Moon" every now and then. Are the labels still made with grocery bags??

SW of Macon. Yeah you are way down there.

Seattle does have some good points. Such as unlike Georgia when I brew beer here I don't need to turn on my AC. Also, this town looks great in B&W.

The summer is starting to fill up with gigs. Right now I am pretty much booked from next weekend until the end of May.

A cottage and cameras go great together.

Talk with you soon.

Good Luck

Yes, GA Moon still has the bag tags and still tastes like Granny's Potion!!! Are you shooting all formats or are you a specialist???? My plate reverb just left my studio today with an engineer from Seattle. Good luck with all your projects!!!

I shoot whatever people will pay me for...

Actually, I am scared of video so often if I get approached by someone to shoot video I will do one of two things.

1) Tell them to hire someone else that knows more about video and can get them what they want.

2) Tell them I will shoot it but I don't know how to get the most out out of video.

If you hear #1 it could be because I don't want to take a no pay gig for someone that doesn't know crap. Or because I don't want to F-up a really good project due to my ignorance.

If you hear #2 it is because you are my friend.

Lately I have shot little if any Super8. Although I might be shooting a doc in Belize in May about fishing guides. It all depends on if the guy gets his shit together. Then the only other Super8 stuff on the books for sure is in August for a wakeboarding film. It will be S16 and S8.

Why??

What about you??

Good Luck

Well, I like to catalog what interesting people do. You never know what might come up.

As for me, I know how to operate most of the pro Sony video cameras but I got started with music video some years back on a 16mm Bolex (1985) and shot a top 10, The Night Porter Wagoner Came Town.

Last year I did a super 16 project and hired a camera operator along with his nice Aaton rig for a few days. This footage looked great. It really pays to have an experienced operator but I trust my eye too.

Also I know my way around a recording studio and have achieved some success with that. I shoot a lot of still photos too. Since Im not rich or have rich parents Ive had to make my life's work and interests pay, which I have.

Next month Im set to shoot around the Tennessee Truck SHow. Ive been doing their projects since the beginning. THis time I plan on introducing them to super 8 and adding it to the video mix. Im planning to tie it in to a project Im planning to start in the fall too which will hopefully bring all my interests and knowledge together. Time will tell.

Good luc with every thing.

Truck show...

That should be very cool. I was oon the war path to get a documentary off the ground about people and their cars. Then I realized that I really didn't want to be a producer.

It still comes around and up from time to time. It might be very cool as a short. Who knows.

A guy I went to school with moved to Nashville. Who knows what happened to him...

It was a place I thought about going to at one point along with North Carolina and Austin.

I always wanted to stay away from the Big Ponds and the sharks.

Good Luck

Both places are nice but Austin probably has a better scene. I lived there for awhile back in the early 70s. You couldnt go wrong picking Austin.

The truck show is a good time. Cool trucks and great people.
