B&H & 64t

Post by pinata2000 »

I thought this was interesting, B&H are now accepting orders for #7280 Ektachrome 64T, although this is good news, i thought it would be a little cheaper http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/control ... ype=search :D

B&H and everyone else always charges more than Kodak for film.

I don't think Kodak cuts dealers any slack. B&H is probably paying 14.95 for it leaving them $2.55 profit, a 17% return before overhead is added in. For B&H it's probably a wash.

Distributor prices for E64T are slightly below Euro 10
I suppose it is some $10-11 in USA.
Plenty of profit when selling at $17.95
Kind regards,

B&H was selling K40 cheaper than kodak...kodak was selling it for around 15.00 each B&H was selling it for 12.95..kodak was around the same if you got 5 or more..

I've worked for small businesses as a bookkeeper. Overhead can eat profits quickly. If I were in business I would not sell anything I could not mark up 100%, unless it was a loss leader. $7 profit on an item you buy for $11 is borderline.
