I thought Mr. Coombs was having a joke?

Very intriguing talk. At what price in the drop should be rock bottom for the Aaton 54 xtr? Perhaps the young man with the Aaton may wish to sell his camera soon as he might?

My budget is around ten thousand...Xtr's cost much more than that...

I think your best bet is to get an Ikonoskop if you want to roll out of bed and shoot...Then buy a reflex zoom that covers S16 and you off to the races with a super small camera. Another thing about a full size camera is that you are going to get noticed. No matter what you will attract attention. So if you plan on walking down the street shooting on the fly get ready to deal with Fuzz.

Check them out http://www.ikonoskop.com I have held one and played with one but have yet to shoot with one. If you buy direct you will get a better price than shown. Also, if you buy sans lens then you will save even more.

I have been thinking about selling my LTR54 and was trying hard to do so for a while but the market is just such shit.

ACL may be a good choice but once again you are in the full size camera mode. The A-Cam is smaller than your DVX100.

Good Luck

These are six or seven thousand, no? This is well into Mr. Weston's range.

I think I would need no less than 10k for mine...Afterall I have a hell of a lot of other shit that goes along with it. The very basic package may be selling sub 10k but in all honesty they should be going 10-12 with XTRs at 15-17 and XTR+/XTRprod over 20

Good LUck

i don't know. probably not. you can shoot short ends and 100' spools though, or just get a 400' mag.

Hey Carl.
Here's a good site for a s-16 acl. http://www.visualproducts.com Just remember you have to use the 75fps motor if you want to use 400fmags.
Good luck :D

It is the set up I would buy if I had the cash. It is such a cool little camera. My biggest bitch is the lack of reflex but with a side finder that could be solved. As long as the lens is light enough not to stress the C-Mount.

Take a look and keep us posted.

Good Luck
