Re: NAB 2017 - any film/cine news?

Stopped at BlackMagic booth and got a good look at the 35mm Cintel scanner I'm hearing that it does a fine job on new or well-maintained film but for archivists the Lasergraphics workstations are amazing. I will say that Blackmagic makes the sexiest film scanner I've seen though. Agreed. Too bad th...

Re: What have you been working on lately?

Been working on an interesting music video. I took a bunch of 16mm and 35mm stock that's been sitting in my fridge for years and shot a man walking around Dallas in a space suit. The song is a mellow tune about isolation in a relationship. With very little planning other than locations and limited ...

Re: What have you been working on lately?

Awesome! :) Another project that has come up: I'm going to do a re-make of a music video I shot on Super8 many years ago. Back then it was scanned on a Workprinter from Moviestuff. Now it's time to scan it in 4K and released it in UHD most likely. I found a link on Youtube to the original video. Ver...

What have you been working on lately?

What projects have you been working on the last few weeks? I have been involved in scanning some old S8, 16mm and 35mm films for two Norwegian feature films and have also digitalised some 1"C video for a documentary. In addition to that I'm planning a total reconstruction of our studio. Startin...

NAB 2017 - any film/cine news?

Anyone visiting NAB this year who can give us some reports? Is Kodak represented? Are we seeing other things than more pixels? How about filmscanners, processors and film/cine equipment? I noticed Lasergraphics upgraded their Director to 10K, MWA Nova has a new version for their scanners out. Filmfa...

Interesting. I didn't catch that - thanks for the correction. Wonder what they've got cooking. Always loved the 100D.

updating the title.

Re: Kodak awakens, new S8 camera announced at CES '16

Does anyone have any updates on this camera? Are we going to see the first batch this summer like the rumours are saying? Will the price be $2000?

Re: Who's Left Shooting 16mm?

Hey Ed! Great to hear you shoot surf. I also film a little surfing here in Norway. One of my next projects is a skateboard project which may also include some surf shots of my friend and I. This summer/fall is the plan. Look forward to do it.

Re: Who's Left Shooting 16mm?

Allthough I haven't shot much film the past 3-4 years, this year is my comeback. :) Already planning 2 filmprojects + the additional family home movies. I really look forward to Ferrania releasing new film(s) and Kodak re-introducing the Ektachrome in Super8. I hope Ektachrome will also be re-releas...

Another Pass the cart project?

I was wondering how many people who would be keen on doing another Pass the cart project? This time with good planning, organizing and pre-paid carts + shipping? What do you think? Any good ideas to follow? If you don't know what "Pass the cart" was, it was a filmproject where each partici...

Re: I found my granfather's old Camera.

Hi Franzisco and welcome to the forums! Since this camera does auto exposure I'm not quite sure which films will work with your camera currently. Perhaps the Kodak Vision3 50D (negative film)? You might want to wait until Kodak re-releases the Kodak Ektachrome 100D film (hopefully this summer). That...
