Hi,

maybe you should link to the list of Super8-cameras in the Super8Wiki instead of linking to Puistot's list?! (The list in the Wiki is based on Puistot's, but it has been expanded and corrected since then.)

Hi, I haven't used any Pro8mm-material myself, but the internet is filled with jittery or even jamming cartridges and some problems with their processing/telecine... E.g.: http://groups.google.de/group/alt.movies.cinematography/browse_frm/thread/f445abb588de4f96/66adce80c63fd491?tvc=1&q=Pro8mm+p...

Re: viewfinder out of line

I believe my viewfinder is out of line on my Nizo 3048 camera, I cannot get the split image to line up at infinity settings, which it should, I can get to it by opening the front plate , but does anyone have any tips on how to adjust it? Doesn't that camera have a "Dioptrinausgleich" (a w...

I think you are right that the movies shown on board were actually a 2x compression Are you sure? The 2.25 : 1 (Super8/16mm's 1.33 : 1 used with a 1.75 anamorphot) is much closer to the 70mm-standard and the 35mm-anamorphic-standard than the 2.66 : 1 (2x anamorphot). Hence it would be much easier t...

Hi reflex, Wittner's price drops to 15,99 EUR per cartridge (approx. 19US$) when buying 20 or more K40s at once (BTW: price includes shipment from Wittner to any place in Germany). I must admit that I didn't check Kodak, but only a few online-shops (Adorama: $12.95 without or $16.50 with PK-59 Movie...

Oh no! Even the S8-cartridge says "85B"! :(
I'll better get one of those in a second hand shop or eBay before everyone else feels the need to get a 85B and prices go up rocket-high! ;)

BTW: The German Schmalfilm now shows a picture of the 64T's cartridge (as you can see, it's definately a pre-production one):

Hi, thanks for those scans. At least it looks like the colours will be great and the grain will be less than on the Ektachrome 160 or the Tri-X, but more compared to the K40. So the 64T probably won't end up as a good replacement for the K40, but might be worth its money anyway. I still wonder how i...

Re: Update at Dwayne's!

You miss the point. I didn't miss the point - you missed my location on this planet ;) The K40 is sold for nearly the same price in the USA as in Europe (Europe is only 1-2US$ more). Nevertheless the European K40 includes processing by Kodak. Even though the actual prices at Super8labs or Andec won...

Anamorphic Aircopies?

Hi, until now I thought that all anamorphic prints for Super8/16mm have been made for 2.0x Anamorphots. But I recently noticed that e.g. Kowa has released 1.75x Anamorphots - all (or nearly all) of them with an "INFLIGHT"-mark. So do I have to expect that those scope-"Aircopies"/...

Re: Update at Dwayne's!

64T listed for a processing price of $9.00!!! That's bad news: If I buy 10 or more K40 at once here in Germany I'll pay less than 19US$ per cartridge (incl. processing and shipping back!). And I doubt that the 64T will go for 10US$ (or less when the 9US$ doesn't incl. shipping the exposed film from...
