Re: Velvia from Wittner runs smoothly!

yes mine was wittner 50d, 16mm 50d and the reperfed fuji 64t, the 16mm 64t is nice stuff, but like the 50d, images are not stable, wittner has admitted thats its trial and error with ones cameras, along with possible QC of the perfing. Also the stock was not intended for cine applications. Back to s...

Re: Velvia from Wittner runs smoothly!

super 8 w50d runs smoothly, hhhmmm, was the footage handheld or tripod mounted? My friend used w50d in regular 8 a couple of weeks back, it jammed in both his leicina 8s and bolex!!! only was the regular 8 50d transported ok-ish via his h8!!. Now i've exposed 16mm w50d and w64t, both stocks were far...

Re: Velvia 50 from Spectra jaming

Hi, i've exposed 15 or so rolls of super 8 50d, all images did show image jitter, ironed out a little when the camera was handhend. Personally i will avoid 50d for now, firstly the stock is thicker compared to other stocks, secondly re-perfed stock by a third party wil not be up the the same quality...

Re: Canon 814/1014XLS vs Beaulieu and Leicina Special comparison

hi, canon 1014xls is not as sharp as the 6-80, especially wide open, i have both in my toybox, leicina special with 6-66 or the 10mm wins the resolving power war. Different cameras for different jobs, run and gun, go for a 1014xls, time to plan and carry out your shoot beaulieu, leicina pitched betw...

Re: Macro focusing for Beaulieu 6008

hhmm, you got me thinking, i did shoot some macro footage on my late 6-70 ( now replaced with 6-66 ) on my beaulieu, and yes, mine too was out of focus, i dismissed the footage being just a test. Its well documented that the 6-70 lens QC was not the best, suffering from mass production. Hence why i ...

Re: Macro focusing for Beaulieu 6008

assume your switching the lens into macro mode? is the viewfinder correctly adjusted to your eyesight? Do you obtain sharp images when the lens is used normally.. Did the lens come with the camera, or have you purchased the lens seperately?.

Is Spectra's 50d jittery?, 'thecircus' did you shoot the 50d tripod mounted or handheld, i've yet to see stable 50d super 8 images, ooh and stable 16mm 50d images! Its a great stock, only bettered by k25, but i have my doubts that 50d is suitable for cine applications. Now hows the GK cart developme...

Hi, depends on what you subject matter is, imo. Canon is great for run and gun work, you get to see the aperature readout in the canon viewfinder. The special, is fairly noisy, but the images are a lot sharper than the canon, even with the special at full aperautre the image is superb. Canons go sof...

814/1014xls, 64t and auto exposure

Any users of canon 814/1014xls cams? have you exposed 64t thru them. I've found both my canons under expose 64t. Using an old k40 cart, then inserting a 64t cart, the camera adds almost 1 f-stop. Footage back always looks slightly under. Anyone had the same problem? Few weeks back my leicina was say...

Hi, imo, stick with the canon w/a 67 lens, it was designed for your camera, all you'll need to do is swing the lens into macro mode and providing the lens is f4 or smaller ( f5.6, 8 etc ) they'll be no focus issues. Using a third parties lens may require more critical focussing adjustment.
