Re: Anyone here own a Leicina Special?...

[possibly there are even more cameras with the little ramps :) I know the R8 an dR10 do have them. So does the Nikon 8x Super Zoom and the Minolta D10. Clearly Japanese designers and engineers then already had a clear understanding and insight of the working and troubles of super-8 cartridges. This...

Re: Anyone here own a Leicina Special?...

Considering OP, the camera doesn't have a registration pin or anything else 'special' in its gate design. I think there were a number of posts in the past on this forum by Santo arguing that the construction of the Leicina gate was such that minimal friction would affect the film passing through th...

Re: Hand crank for Fujica ZC 1000

The crank is a shared accessoirie with the Z800 (if I remember correctly).
Its mainly used is with expertimental work or stop motion/animation.

The main concern is to have a lenscover on when doing transport, one way or the other :) As with other reversing cameras like Beaulieu 6008 and Nikon R10

Re: Fomapan redux

Let us cite the Internet. The world is flat, nobody went to the moon and JFK wasn't murdered by Lee Harvey Oswald. Other fun findings from the Internet, supposedly Nikon wasn't capable of setting the exposure system on the F90s propeply and the autofocus on the F100 was off too. People at home coul...

Re: Fomapan redux

Thanks for your nice words, André. It's not normal to process several rolls of the same film on the same soup at the same time and get very different results. In fact, I'm not the only one detecting big inconsistencies and defects between Fomapan R100 batches. You can find plenty online (take a ...

Re: Fomapan redux

Yes, David. Lab work is important. But I've processed two rolls of Fomapan on the same soup at the same time and results were quite different between the two. Being a Fomapan lover myself, I always thought that it would be preferable to raise the prices a bit and make a quality controlled product. ...

Re: Wolverine 8mm and Super 8 Movie Reels to Digital MovieMa

BTW curious how filmers spend some Euro 10 on a minute of filming super-8 but want the equipment for doing that at fleamarket prices. I.e a camera at Euro 50 is ough! A projector at Euro 35 even more ough!
It makes one wonder how Kodak is going to sell these Euro 1000 cameras :)

They (wittner) are not trashing their machine I assume. Are they reluctant to wear out their machine or possibly costs are getting out of hand?

It is about the same thing as discussed half a year ago.

These slide scanners with S8 are offered by the sea-container load at Alibaba.
Mind the prices there! Even at small quantities. And there are other such devices.

Re: Diversification at Bolex

It is just a curious other use of the name. Bolex for bowl cleaners isn't that odd. It is not the end of Bolex camera or such. In Europe brands are limited to their own markets. There are winechateau of Beaulieu. Boxing gloves and what more. And of course the camerabrand is still there although owne...
