Super-8 Sound cameras can take and run silent cartridges without trouble. The recoding head and capstan-drive are then uncovered and unused. No trouble there. To my knowlegde Nowill only can perforate 16mm 2R into normal/regulare 8. I.e not from 1R and not from unperforated material.

If it seems to run fine that is as good as it gets without using actual film. Test its running with some old film if you have that. See if it is powerful enough and doesn't stall or lock.
