Hi!
Is it just me, or is http://www.openfilmscanner.org/ dead? The domain doesn’t even seem to be registered anymore.
Happy 2023!

Re: Jurgen Lossau's Super 8 Magazine
Issue 6 has been shipped in July - see https://www.super8.tv/en/the-new-super-8-magazine-6/ A next issue is scheduled for January (no clue which issue number it will have): https://www.filmvorfuehrer.de/topic/37313-wwwsuper8tv-mit-neuen-themen-und-einem-meilenstein/ So, the magazine is still printed...

Re: E100D in Double 8mm is back!
There are many telecine devices that can do this - including the ones produced by the Chinese company „Winait“ that get sold as Wolverine/reflecta/Somikon/… . But when doing this in „real time“, then many of them assume a certain generic negative film stock = will still have a certain color cast. Al...

Re: Seized Filter Holder/Adapter
Maybe the adapter never fit onto the hood in the first place? Maybe one has a diameter in millimeters (115mm), while the other one is in inches (4.5 inches = only 114.3mm)? Or they have got a different pitch?

Re: Seized Filter Holder/Adapter
Did you find out the reason for the adapter getting stuck? Sand/dust? Some damage? Or just some „sugar water“ (lemonade, coke,…) that got spilled across the hood?

Re: Seized Filter Holder/Adapter
Okay. Then what about putting the thing in the freezer: in the cold, everything (except for water) shrinks - but at a different rate, depending on the material: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN9y81l3uu4 When cold doesn’t work, then try heat (from a hair dryer) on the holder/adapter only. This way,...

Hi! Did you try any of these tools to remove filters or to open jars? https://www.big-photo.de/b.i.g.-flexible-filterklemme?c=619 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1693777-REG/b_w_1096776_filter_wrench_82mm.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/replacement_for/1358027-REG/benro_ftu1_filter_wrench...

Re: Nikon R8/10 question
Hi! No clue about the R8/R10, but on some Nikon-still-cameras, there’s a small plastic ring that is slipped above the rubber-eyecup where it is „connected“ to the camera’s viewfinder. It secures the eyecup so that it’s not only hold by the tension of the rubber, but also by this small ring. Hence, y...

„Fix Focus“ and anamorphics
Hi! What’s the impact of an anamorphic attachment on the „depth of field“-charts? Most of my attachments force me use „dual focus“ = to set both the camera‘s lens and the anamorphic attachment to the same distance. This takes a lot of time, sometimes too long, e.g. when you want to film a passing tr...

Hi! I would also be very happy to switch back from Fakebook to this forum - if there would be more traffic. (Fakebook was fun for a while, now it’s mainly only about advertising, spreading fake news and only little about the hobby. Not to mention that it’s nearly impossible to find postings older th...

Re: Home Scanners - Braun NovoScan
Hi! Great shots of trains that I sometimes didn’t know of. I wonder whether they’re all still in operation. Also thanks for the proof that these Chinese film scanners (from Winait, but sold under at least ten other brand names) can produce something useful. ;-) BTW: Did you spend much time in post -...
