Re: 16mm Vision2 stocks

I'm really loving super8 (it all started for me less than a year ago) but already I'm being lured by 16mm. I find myself looking on ebay as much for bolex h16's as for beaulieu 4008's and Canon 1014's.. Then I started looking at film stocks and I couldn't really find a place that sold many vision s...

Clean the gate with an orange stick, that's how the pro's do it and it's one of the first lessons to use. They aren't a lot of money.

I would shoot more than I need and edit the rest out this way if you shoot only 4 seconds you're stuck with that and if you change your mind later, well, you're out of luck. Shooting more for the edit is better and general rule a lot of times. You could use either internal or an incident meter, if y...

I think I'll stick to renting an SR3 or something as good or better and leave my beloved K3 MOS and spring wound, after all the camera is loud and I enjoy the ease of easy switch mags because time = money on the set. Thanks Arri.

I painstakingly stitched the audio back up to the film after I had captured both to the computer.
Do you know how to sync film clips and audio together in FCP when using a slate? It's pretty cool and simple especially when you know the short keys.

http://www.bonofilm.com/colorchart.pdf http://www.bonofilm.com/camera%20report1.pdf Just shoot a few frames of the chart, they can pause it to it. On the report make a mark and "correct to chart" you can do some crazy stuff by using that chart, put in different light temperatures get all s...

I would just save myself the hassle and put in the filter, if you're not going to correct on set do yourself the favor and atleast shoot a color chart for reference. Don't rely on technology because it might not give you the actual look you want. Unfortunately, I may need to rely on filtering in the...

Lighting isn't just about turning on lamps you got to remember about how you're exposing the film/video image drastically has an effect. Don't ever be afraid of dropping full scenes, I had to and that scene was a huge chunk of my movie and cost well over $300 for me. My movie is so much better witho...

The character he plays IS very passive, until he is pushed to a point where he finally reacts. That is the whole third act, and also something that is alluded to at the end of the trailer/preview. I know i actually skipped ahead and saw that part, with him and the gun. But maybe concentrate more on...

I can honestly say that if we remade this movie from scratch, we would do it completely different based off of what we have learned from this project I know people say this a lot probably to you - as I've been told this a million times myself and I know its crap but try not to think about this and ...
