Hard drives are very extremely expensive for archival storage. They also increase the chance that a single point failure (ie: media failure, electronic failure) will destroy all of your films. Remember that you have to be able to read the media in a decade or two, and drive standards change with li...

Archiving Telecined Footage
I'm having a little trouble trying to figgure out the best media to archive footage. Right now I'm backing things up on DVD and I like that, but for some projects I need to back up films on more than one DVD or break apart one film. Betacam SP seems to be the best solution, but I notice that there a...

Blue/Green Screen Example (Request)
I was wondering if anyone here has worked with Green/Blue screens using both Super-8 for the forground and what would be composited onto the screen. I'm going to try to do a test of this in the winter, but I'm really curious to see how it looks in Super-8. Does anyone have a clip they can upload or ...

I'm boycotting Walmart. At any rate, I'd rather just send my film to Dwayne's myself and KNOW that it's in good hands. But when you're a student filmmaker paying for college, Wal-Mart is your best friend unfortunately. And as I understand it, Wal-Mart loses money with this arrangement, which means ...

Would I be infringining on some like, likeness rights if I were to use GI Joes in a commercial film? I only wonder because, Robot Chicken uses copyrighted figures all the time and I can't imagine they're paying royalties per figure on 100's of figures in only two episodes. If you don't know Robot Ch...
