Re: Flange focal distance of 9.5 mm camera ?

Double-Eight movie film is always perforated with 0.1500" pitch since no copying on sprocket wheel printers is intended. Only for completeness

Re: I'm getting film curl on an almost new film!

Maybe too warm drying with the lab

Only remedy is to rewash the film and let it dry slowly

Too much tension on the film can be the other cause. Perhaps time to have a chat with the lab people.
I worked as a machine developer in 1987-88 and had my own commercial lab from 1997 to 2008.

Re: Eumig P8

The Eumig P 8 has Bell & Howell mechanics. The claw is pushed forward on every third stroke. By turning the 1-1 shaft at the rear you’ll check that. If the claw doesn’t come out any more it might be bent or dirt laden or something. You can take the drive unit out by removing two sc...

Raw stock lengths

Howdy! I’m wondering about the length of a film portion just from manufacture. Does anybody know how long a 400-ft roll is exactly ? As much as I know 16-mm film in the beginning was sold with black and red paper leader spliced to. Was it 100 feet then? Carlson speak of 112 ft with Agfa-Gevae...

Re: Reduce Paper Usage on Set

When film came up in times with everybody living related to each other it actually worked like in the army, everything by word. The directors ordered, commanded. Only a few trade papers were needed such as the basic tech reports, delivery checks, and invoices. I don't mean to say that we should rein...
