Pedro!

I just sent you an email about the R1008MD. I hope it was the right email. I sent it through the shooting 8mm website.

Cranium, Z-sync is burning a hole in my desktop. I'm dying to use it. Problem is, I can't get in touch with Pedro to buy his R1008md tone generator. I tried using the spikes directly from the flash socket, but the noise was too much. I couldn't get a good signal. Then, realistically, it's going to t...

i wish

i'll tell you something, it's not that good in the States. (for me at least) I'm the manager of a thrift store. I've had my eyes wide open for a year and a half and I haven't seen one piece of super8 equipment come through. There was that one little 8mm projector, but it was basically worthless for ...

what kind of camera are you trying to hook up to the mac? How are you hooking it up? What mac are you using? It has been my experience that iMovie really is as simple as they say. I use FCP however. Why is OS X a pain? That's the first I've ever heard it being called a pain. Also, there is plenty of...

thanks for asking

:D Hello! It seems to be running great. I haven't had any problems since it miraculously started working. I shot some test rolls just yesterday actually. I have off from work on thursdays and sundays, and its been overcast on every one since the camera started working. There's one more roll to shoot...

You wouldn't first record to tape, and then put THAT onto computer would you? You just need the camera to stay on so you can telecine your print using the media jack on your Sony. So, would it be so bad to just get a long tape and use it over and over again as your "workprinter tape"? The ...

I own a Dazzle Hollywood DV brige. This is an analog to firewire comverter. I believe when i bought it 3 years ago it was about $150 cheaper than the Sony converter... ...I've regretted it ever since. This thing feels like a toy. Very light. Very breakable. It has done the job. But i've always had h...

crap

well folks. I don't know what I did, but it works now. I opened the thumb grip and blew it out with canned air. Then I simply unscrewed a screw from the hand grip, looked at it, then put it back in. More canned air, more canned air (i've wasted an entire bottle on this camera already). Put the batte...

whelp.

Thanks everyone for your help. I'm in a tough position here. I went to http://www.oldtimercameras.com and found the repair manual for the 814xl-s. This is another 35$ (approx.). Then I get it, and what if I can't fix it? My other option is to send it to a repair place like U.T. Photo in CA. Who know...

success, kind of

Well i went to radio shack. Bought a 9v battery and the right plug.... Plugged it into the external jack and the camera works! Much quieter than I expected. As Jessh said, it's not lasting very long...The battery is almost dead already.. but isolating the problem is half the battle. So I guess this ...

If cleaning doesn't work, I guess basically i'm looking at checking with an external power supply to see if its a complete loss. The manual says "External Power Jack: Coaxial feed plug fitting on the grip for an external 9v DC supply with Canon Power Pack 9v. Anyone know the amps on that? 9v DC...
