Re: 16 mm. What camera to buy
If you want to make the argument that a hand-crank camera is "easier" because it doesn't use batteries, you're on crack. I can't tell you how many shots I've missed with my K3 because I was busy winding to only get a 40 second shot. I have little circular imprints on my palm from turning ...

Re: 16 mm. What camera to buy
The easiest 16mm camera to use? The Bell & Howell model 70, the Kodak K100, the non-reflex Bolex. Spring powered which means they are always ready to go. You don't need a charger or a battery pack like the Canon or Arriflex. And they all use readily available c-mount lenses. Just carry a light m...

Re: Splicing
If you are using Kodak splicing tape then get a Kodak splicer. I got mine off eBay. It will help align the sprocket holes in the tape with the ones on the film. A Ciro splicer is one to get because it uses tape with no holes. It punches the holes as you splice the film.

Anyone Still Process 16mm VNF
I got a roll of 16mm VNF left I would like to use before it gets too old. Any labs out there which can still handle this?

Re: Need to Identify Movie Cameras
I actually wrote to Kerry Decker giving him the link to my 35mm camera I have online. I think the one he's holding is an Ica Kinamo.

Re: Double 8mm film cans
Thanks for the suggestions but I will be spooling film from a larger roll onto 25' spools. I just need the cans to put them in to send to the lab.

Double 8mm film cans
I got a bunch of empty double 8mm camera spools I'll be spooling film on and I need empty cans so I can send these to the lab for processing. Just need less than a dozen so if anyone has a source or some spare cans please let me know. P.S. - I survived hurricane IKE in Houston but was sick during th...

Re: 8mm camera info
Yes, the L8 uses d-mount lenses with a longer focal distance. Or a standard d-mount with an adapter ring that increases that distance. I got one of those adapters that came with a lens. I simply removed the adapter to use the lens on another camera. Any way I could buy the adaptor from you? Well it...

Re: 8mm camera info
There are the Yashica models that are electric powered. The d-mount version is called the Yashica-M which has two or three lenses on a turret but it's not reflex. There is a reflex version with a zoom lens that is not removeable that's called the Yashica U-Matic. I have one of each of these and can...

Re: Long Turn Around Times
I wrote the guy and he says his basic unit will work for 16mm. I just have to change the projection bulb to a lower wattage and use a diffuser.Blue Audio Visual wrote:
He'll have to buy a 16mm unit from Roger Evans first so that he knows how to rip off the design.

Re: Long Turn Around Times
Once you get the "Box", get yourself one of those old green B&H 16mm projectors, shouldn't be more'n fifty bucks. Wrap a length of good cloth tape, about 5" long and 1/2" wide around the 18fps end of the drive spindle, in the direction of forward motion (use 24fps for runnin...
