Re: The State of Double Super 8
Pro8mm has extended its „preorder period“ until August 24th. So you can still order E100D in DS8 with and without processing+scanning.

Noris Synchronkabel
Hi! Anyone knows any details about this „cable“ or has got a complete manual? 5E86DA7C-D275-4868-9CD2-56D7FFC82609.jpeg 376CAB9F-82E5-45FD-BD2C-EE61DD677025.jpeg I know that it generates a 1khz beep for every forth frame (as defined in the ETS standard). And it can start and stop the tape recorder „...

Iscomorphot S8 / 2x
Hi! AFAIK there have been only these two „official“ ways to mount an „Iscomorphot S8 / 2x“ to a projector: 1) a „traditional“ holder: 3B5A6D00-9344-4CF5-9A81-6B051B6FC8A1.jpeg Advantage: Works for all projectors where the lens isn’t hidden on the inside. Disadvantage: Projector‘s zoom range reduced ...

Ethical Question: Corona
Hi! When the Corona-shutdown started, I wanted to film the empty streets, the closed shops/restaurants/cinemas/... in B&W. And the plan was to shoot the “glamorous and glorious” reopening in color and to combine both parts to a single movie. But my kids urged me not shoot this as they didn’t wan...

Re: Sync Sound
Hi!
Are you talking about the windows program that took a „stereo wav“-file with the sync peeps on one channel and adjusted the sound on the other channel to the correct speed?
Take care
Jörg

Re: Processing Colour Neg at Gauge Film
Hi, the process depends on the film. As a rule of thumb all olour-negative filmstocks for still photography are C41, while all olour-negative cine-filmstocks (Vision3, ...) are ECN-2. You can verify this by taking a look at the tech-docs: http://motion.kodak.com/motion/uploadedFiles/Kodak/motion/Pro...

Re: 8mm Sound conversion to DVD
Super8-film is played back at 18 or 24fps- However DVDs don't support these frame-rates. E.g. when doing a PAL-transfer, then the film's speed is either slowed down from 18fps to 16.66fps or sped up from 24 to 25fps. Same applies to NTSC (with different frame-rates: 18fps gets sped up 19.980, while ...

Re: Mains lead for Bolex 18.5
Isn't it just an older standard ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEC_60320 or https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ger%C3%A4testecker#Vorl.C3.A4ufer_des_Kaltger.C3.A4testeckers )? Most of them can still be bought at Reichelt or Conrad: http://www.reichelt.com/IEC-Connector-Plugs/2/index.html?&ACTION=2&a...

Hi,
maybe you could ask this movie club?

Tak Kohyama from Retro8 should also know details and might even have spare parts:
