Re: Best widescreen transfer to HD in the US

....Why didn't they use Frame Discreet... Hey guys, I spoke with the fella shooting for discovery a while back and gave him some recommendations on film stocks and processing options. He was planning on having a transfer setup with me here @ Frame Discreet. When the rolls didn't show up here, I cal...

Re: My Bolex is Fried

Try with Jean-Louis in Montreal.

He does Super 16 modifications and is the only man I trust with my Bolex. Very kind and trustworthy.. and did I mention, affordable?

Re: Going to Canada...

Oh and if you need some film stock, I was just about to place an order with Silvanna Marsella - the Toronto KODAK rep. Give her a call, I'll be picking up some film from them this week and can grab your order for you while I'm over there. If anyone wants to order film, here's SILVANNA's contact @ KO...

Understanding SD/ HD weblink.

Found this excellent site that explains SD / HD aspect ratios, frame rates, interlaced vs. progressive and more.

Simple to understand yet still quite thorough. Worth checking out.

Site goes down for 1 day and everyone notices :P Should be all up and running now. --and I'm far from sh...

Re: Frame Discreet or Spectra Film?

Hey Jim, It is possible to shoot unfiltered with the neg stocks. I do it all the time. In some cases though I have found that certain colours do render better when using the appropriate 85 filter if shooting outdoors under more 'bluish' light (ie. shadows or early morning). The differences are prett...

Re: Frame Discreet or Spectra Film?

Yup, Roger's right. I'm using a dedicated DV8 Sniper PRO for super 8 & superduper/max8, dedicated DV8 Sniper PRO for regular 8mm, and a SNIPER 16mm for 16mm and super 16mm transfers. Roger has helped me out with some upgrades on my units, and I've put countless hours into R & D to dial into ...

ah yes. that makes more sense.

I just bought stationripper to run alongside last.fm. But I'm having some difficulty interfacing the two programs together... little frustrating.
