Re: Sexy models shot on Super 8 in Cuba - 100D - 2K Transfer
Cool. Nice correction. The cinematographer, Pouyan Fard, was looking for some more contrast so I punched it up a little. You should see what the RAW looked like from our scan, even more range to work with than what you had there!

Re: Sexy models shot on Super 8 in Cuba - 100D - 2K Transfer
Hey Carl! Sounds like your post processing setup is pretty crucial to many factors. Currently 2k RAW scans are priced the same as best light 1920x1080 scans at $30/roll. It's taken me a while to get a setup developed that I am happy with. Spent well over a year in R&D with different sensors and ...

Sexy models shot on Super 8 in Cuba - 100D - 2K Transfer
Shot by cinematographer Pouyan Fard with a cheap-o super 8 camera picked up for $3 at value village. Will be Intercut for a Fashion commercial spot with his 5D DSLR steadicam shots. This will definitely stand apart from the DSLR footage. The texture and softness of super 8 really works well to get a...

Re: "Pass The Cart" project, Official Thread
Who should I send it to, directly to FLATWOOD or LASTCOYOTE?
I can send the 50' reel and the AVI together.
I can deliver the DV-AVI or the uncompressed 8bit AVI if you prefer.. or what the heck, might as well send both. If you're MAC based let me know and I can prepare QT MOV files instead.

Re: "Pass The Cart" project, Official Thread
Hey Guys, Sorry for my lateness. Business, life and shooting has gotten in the way. I was really bummed about the last k40 cart getting lost and wanted to shoot something that would top my last one.. (hard one to beat, I had some great dolly shots of a mime in victorian era clothing in a dense fores...

Re: Someone knows the telecines of Screenshot Germany
I met the boys at screenshot when I was visiting for the NOMOS AWARDS super 8 festival. They are a great team and have a fantastic studio setup. If you're in the hood, I recommend dropping in and saying hi. I was glad I had the opportunity to check 'em out. I believe they were involved in the origin...

Shooting super 16, cheaper than super 8!
For those who don't know.. www.mediadistributors.com A hidden gem for cheap film stock. I've seen 16mm stock from as cheap as .05/foot... Hell even bought 35mm stock for .01/foot. Short ends/recans all certified! Working it out, I believe super 8 stock is around .30-.40/foot. Just grab yourself a bo...

Re: Can someone tell me the difference??? (telecine)
I second what will says. The operator/colorist makes all the difference.. and the gear goes hand in hand with that. I have had great results with our modified Sniper setups. We have spent quite a bit of time on R&D and testing to get the additional components up to snuff for what I want to do, a...

Re: Waveform Monitor with Cinecap/Capturemate?
I know you're under 'space constraints'.. but for what you want.. just make some more desk space! I suggest a 2nd computer with a blackmagic SDI/hmdi/analog (whatever your camera can output or capture computer can output) input card. Run the software Hamlet VIDSCOPE (they're releaseing a new BX ? ve...
