NO matter how true all of this may be. It will not stop the market tide of dying film and rising film costs. We could argue that Dinosaurs were the best hunters but it did not keep them on the planet.

O.K. here I go, the profit of doom again. What good is a limited production run, state of the art, combustion engine Lamborghini, which costs over one million dollars, when oil becomes obsolete?

Re: Super eight film making will soon be 50 year's old

I hate to be all doom and gloom but film seems to be like the Titanic going down. It is only a matter of time. And the Super 8 that is available is exorbitantly priced. NO reversal available anymore. I think that the film community is holding onto threads while dangling from a hot air balloon. Even ...

Re: Huge Price Increase for Super 8 Film

I believe it would be cheaper for Kodak to spool the Regular 8mm film. But if silver prices skyrocket, it really won't matter. Silver prices would actually be higher if it wasn't for short selling. There isn't 1/1000 the amount of physical silver on the earth to cover the shorts. This is artificiall...

Dubbel 8

Cool Swedish film about some adolescent filmmakers in 1964 that make a movie on Regular 8mm and show it to small home town audience.

Re: reflecta super 8 scanner

I'm not sure this thing even really exists. The history on this is that, a few years ago, Hammacher Schlemmer came to me wanting to put our scanner in their catalog. The only problem was they have a lifetime, no questions asked, unconditional money back policy. So someone could effectively buy our ...
