Filming the Stars

It may be a stupid question but is it an impossibility to films stars? I mean besides the one in our solar system. It would be interesting to some how set a telescope with a super 8 cam and try to film something interesting perhaps Mercury or a planet in somewhat visiual range.

Just a reminder that the screening is going to be may 24th. So anyone with trailers or 1-3 minute film, let me know asap. The format is going to be 4:3 instead of 16:9. I can make any adjustments you'd need but make sure you can give me a copy that's good enough to be viewed on 20+ foot screen.

Interesting, thanks for the info matt and chris. I'm only now getting used to HD, so it's going to take some messing around to better understand. But the info helps plenty.

I've just done another test, I've corrected the issue with the titles they look very smooth. But how do you mean it's not scaled properly? It's stretched if that's what you mean. I changd the aspect ratio prior, to fit it for 720p.

It was shot with Tri-X. At the time, I wasn't realy familiar with the function of the camera, at least not as much as I am now. And christoph, you're right this is actually seconf generation video. I had cpatured it, compressed it to raw.dv and imported it to Final Cut then resized and made it 720p....

Mitch did it for me back in '04. Not sure if it's original xfer was HD. But it wasn't captured in HD, which is what I'm going to try next time. This is not even the best example of clarity of things I've shot, and if it looks good, I can't wait to see what the good stuff looks like in HD:) Again I'm...

Hey all, I have a trailer for "Wolf in the Fold" in HD 720p: http://www.bonnutfilmstudio.com/wolfinthefold This trailer is only temporary, until I re-capture the footage. But it looks pretty neat to see that this picture quality dosen't look bad an this is not even an example of S8 at it's...

That would be great. As long as it's it's a little compressed as possible. I've keeping up with the serialized version of the film and enjoying it a lot. I also have seen the shorts on your site :) But yes send the trailer to bfspublicrelations@gmail.com in a .mov file if possible.

How about a Super-8 Cities version of horseracing? There are horse races all around. It'd bee cool to see ones in North America, Australia, Europe, Africa, are there any in South America? Brazil maybe? I'm near the NYC one, so I'll head over there!

The screening is May 24th. So it'd be good, if I had them in hand at least two days before. Especially if I need to format to 16X9.

Trailers Wanted for upcomming screening

My film group's short "Wolf in the Fold" is premiering at the University of Connecticut Stamford Campus, and we have the auditorium for an hour. We'll be having a short speech at the beginning but we'll need some things to open the film as the film itself is only 15 minutes. We have a 3min...
