I use a CIR roll tape splicer for editing my films, then when I am happy with the final cut, I undo the tape splices one at a time and make cement splices. Urbanski film (google them) sell cement cheaply (though they won't post it airmail to Australia!). Urbanski also sell rolls of tape for CIR spli...

There is no box for me either! Do it again and include perhaps: student, holywood aspirant, independent narrative filmmaker, experimental filmmaker or artist etc. etc. My films are 'experimental' for want of a word. Usually some kind of formal exploration of film/camera/chemistry material properties...

Yes it is similar, but d94 or d95 is the official version. Advantage of d19 is that it comes in a bag already mixed up.

You can use either type of bleach, I find r9 easier.

D19 is a kodak developer. This comes in a yellow bag as powder. It is usually available at a good photo shop that does dark room stuff.
Yes you get good results with it.

It works well with all black and white reversal films (plus x, tri-x, Foma, Kahl (which is ORWO))

He also started the very successful Melbourne Super8 film group in the ealy eighties which lasted until a couple of years ago. In its time one of the most successful art groups of any sort in Aus. Now it has morphed into 'Moving Image Coalition' - multi-format and languishing in attendance at the mo...

Martin,
Richard here. I have had success in the past finding someone prepared to look at super8 gear. I don't have the info on me, but I will go through my files and see if I can find some info for you. I am sure I know a melbourne repairer. Bear with me.

Well on the take up side there would appear to be not too much to it. The film travels past the presure plate then slides through a slot below the plate into the inside of the take up side. Inside it travels against the inside wall the full lenth of one face of the square cartridge then turns back v...

reloadable kassema - how to get them to work

Hello all,
I have a bunch of reloadable Kassema and I can load them alright I think, but they invariably jam in some way during use. Its like they require more torque to move them than the claw and take up drive can supply. Is there a trick anyone knows for these things?

By the way, I think you have miss read the email that mentioned yale. It was listing the price in aus dollars of kodak stocks in australia ... and it should be read as follows: ectachrome t64 costs $20 (processing available at yale ...). Yale have been charging $19US for 7240. Pac lab i think $14 US.

Hi there, Richard Tuohy here in Daylesford Vic. I too have been putting a lot of energy into finding an e6 solution for us Australians. No existing Aus lab offers ANY colour reversal process FOR MOVIE FILM. BUT!!! E6 is a commonly used still film process and there are many labs that can do the proce...

Hi there,
Ricahrd here in Australia. I have only just followed this feed, but I have a number of films I would like to send over for a festival in December. I could send a DVD (pal) only. I assume that would be alright.
