Yes it is similar, but d94 or d95 is the official version. Advantage of d19 is that it comes in a bag already mixed up.

You can use either type of bleach, I find r9 easier.

D19 is a kodak developer. This comes in a yellow bag as powder. It is usually available at a good photo shop that does dark room stuff.
Yes you get good results with it.

It works well with all black and white reversal films (plus x, tri-x, Foma, Kahl (which is ORWO))

For what it is worth, for tri-x (and orwo black and white) I use: all at 20 deg celceus D19 dev - 6min wash - 3 min bleach (R9) 3min wash - 3min clear - 2.5 min wash - 3 min reexpose 100w 1 meter away 1 minute 2nd dev d19 3 min wash 3 min fix (i use tetenal) 6 min wash 20 min I dont add thyocyanide ...

I have a bunch of reloadable Kassema and I can load them alright I think, but they invariably jam in some way during use. Its like they require more torque to move them than the claw and take up drive can supply. Is there a trick anyone knows for these things?

By the way, I think you have miss read the email that mentioned yale. It was listing the price in aus dollars of kodak stocks in australia ... and it should be read as follows: ectachrome t64 costs $20 (processing available at yale ...). Yale have been charging $19US for 7240. Pac lab i think $14 US.
