Minette super 8 viewer editor.

Hello, I have recently bought a Minette S4 film editor. Unfortunately it was damaged in the post and so I was wondering, I know its a long shot, has anyone got one of the small bolts that attach the film guide capstan to the main body. I am pretty sure they are the same throughout the Minette range,...

Beaulieu 4008 ZM II light meter.

I have been putting some rolls of Ektachrome 64t through my Beaulieu with some nice results, and have been encouraged that all seemed to be working well, until! I have just finished a roll of Tri-x which I rated at 160 asa with the filter in. It seems to be underexposed by at least 1 stop. After che...

Re: Hand processing Super 8 Tri-X, any info?

Thanks for that, I did see some of those tanks on Ebay and wondered how effective they are. They seem to be quite pricey though. Do they take a complete reel of 50ft and are they straight forward to load? Thanks, Stuart.

Hand processing Super 8 Tri-X, any info?

Hello, I am contemplating hand processing some super 8 Tri-x as a positive. Has anyone experience of this and can offer me some advice on equipment, chemicals and procedure. Many Thanks.

Re: Super 8 film processing is AVAILABLE in the UK !!!!!

Sorry my mistake, the service had been used by another member of filmshooting.com who hadn't been happy with the service as referred to previous reply. Anyway sounds interesting, thanks for the info.

Re: Super 8 film processing is AVAILABLE in the UK !!!!!

I am confused with this post and a previous one in March where you stated that you would not be using the lab due to disappointing results. Have you found a different lab in the UK for super 8 processing or has the lab owner from the March post improved the service. Regards, Stuart

Re: UK Beaulieu 4008 battery re-celling.

The Emmerich cells have been discontinued, they would otherwise have been the obvious choice. To my knowledge Emmerich the company that made them has ceased trading. Regards, Stuart.

Re: UK Beaulieu 4008 battery re-celling.

The company is keen to re-cell Beaulieu batteries and provide a reliable service. What I have learnt recently from working with them is that they did a re-cell a while ago and had put a small piece of info on their website but through various changes at the company had lost the original notes on the...

UK Beaulieu 4008 battery re-celling.

I have managed to find a company in the UK that will restore your old Beaulieu 4008 screw in batteries. The company is called Univercell-Batteries.co.uk. They will dismantle and replace the cells or you can just order the ready made cell pack to fit yourself. I would suggest letting them do all the ...

Re: Beaulieu 4008 Ultrawide lens.

The Cosmicar and Raynox set up sounds like a good substitute for the Schneider Ultrawide. I have just bought an Ultrawide off Ebay and can see some fine cleaning marks, I would guess that it is almost impossible to find a mint unmarked lens that is now 30+ years old and made of plastic. I shall give...

Beaulieu 4008 Ultrawide lens.

Hello, I have a Beaulieu 4008 ZM2 with the Optivaron 6-66mm macro lens and would like to buy a Schneider Kreuznach ultrawide III lens to increase the field of view. I have heard that most of the lens that appear on the likes of Ebay are made of moulded plastic and that they are susceptible to scratc...

Re: Super 8 promo film for antique interiors.

The drawers were animated by using the single frame facility on the camera. I shoot two frames at a time, open the drawers a little shoot another two frames open a little more. The tricky bit is closing some drawers while opening others and keeping track of which drawer is moving in which direction,...

Super 8 promo film for antique interiors.

This was a commissioned short film to promote an Antique Interiors business based in Brighton,UK. I was given free reign to produce a film that would bring movement and life to the antiques and interiors, and hopefully add a new dimension to the business web site. I used Braun Nizo 801 and S56 camer...

Braun Nizo 801 meter battery conversion.

I have a couple of Braun Nizos, an 801 and S56. I am interested in converting the 801 meter to run off the AA batteries in the hand grip by-passing the two coin cell batteries. I have been using the Wien type air batteries but with some possible time lapse projects in the future I don't want them to...

Re: Beaulieu s2008 lens filter size?

I am now confused! My Beaulieu lens is definitely 46.5mm as far as I can measure with a ruler, not the most accurate method, so that seems to make sense. What I don't understand is that if the series size is VII then surely that is about 54mm. Also on the Beaulieu.de web site the smallest filter the...
