Re: Your Experiences Using Expired B/W Film
Do you want to develop the film to negative or reverse it to positive? Try each in turn. D-76 gives soft reverses and good negs. How will development be done? Bucket, spirals, or rewinds? That'll effect results. I like to Stand process on spirals hours and hours with high contrast film to achieve ni...

Re: Your Experiences Using Expired B/W Film
What I do is shoot a bracket test first on every aperture. Just a 3 foot length with clear or black single frames between each shot. Development is in a Jobo tank that holds two 110 reels. I only develop one. Each holds about 6 feet. More than enough to project a spliced loop. The best exposure is d...

Re: Process times for various B&W 8mm films ???
That time came from my days developing prints. The Kodak fixer package lists 5-10 minuets. Now I time how long film takes to clear and double it. I hadn't yet learned that old fixer takes longer to do the job.

Re: Process times for various B&W 8mm films ???
I no longer fix 10 minuets. I test a clip to see how long it takes to clear then double it. 68f/20c.

Re: 16mm magazine
Simple way. As shown. The only way 1R can be. I took the mag all apart and could not feel anything. My first scratch after all those films.

The magazine made a big scratch.
My developing was perfect!
This film is 1R single perforated Tri-X 16mm
The 50 foot magazine was used with the innards upside down.
It was stand developed in HC-110. It only needed 22ml to do the job. Half of that could have worked I bet.

Re: 16mm magazine
Ready. 25 feet were loaded first onto a take up spool in a Bolex then onto a core using my handy dandy lid loader. This was my first load in the dark. It was somewhat difficult. The screws were done in the light. 7266 1R 200 Asa reversal was loaded. Fresh film. A Lomo 1 developing tank will be used.

Re: 16mm magazine
No, I only learned how to load a magazine correctly this morning. Tri-X 16mm 1R 7266 will be loaded. I had to review my stand developing reports all day today. HC-110 will be used to stand develop it. I get box speed 200 Asa. Higher if I want it. But I really like the creamy smooth look using RO9 sl...

Re: 16mm magazine
Come to think of it, there is no reason that the takeup core with the brass retaining sleeve and geared bottom cannot be removed in the same way the feed core may be. Worth a try or two. No need to rewind the film then.

Re: 16mm magazine
Thanks for the clarification. The pressure plate IS reversible indeed and that works. I bent it downwards more. Film ran smoothly in the 1R configuration smoothly, quietly and flawlessly at 16 fps and at 24 fps. First time for that. BTW, I got the brass sleeve off the core after rewinding the film w...
