Re: E100D in Double 8mm is back!
I love 8mm and super 8....but I cannot stomach the price to shoot it again. I think that is true for most former film-makers. I remember about a guy who gave up shooting a project in Super 8 when he found a Vintage Super 8 ap for his smart phone...the resulting video look just like his super 8 trans...

He died of brain cancer. I remember in 70's, he was really into Super 8 and believed it had a fantastic future. Then came home video.

Roger,
Did you ever think about selling a modified Wolverine scanner? I think alot of people would pay for one pro focused, with rollers instead of posts.

Re: Kodak Film Prices
Back in the 70s, 50' super 8 film/processing was 1/3 the cost of same emulsion in 100' 16mm with processing. Just some food for thought.

NY Times is an American newspaper in New York City.
The younger generation does not remember film . Many times on Ebay I have spotted reel to reel tape recorders being sold as film projectors in the movie projector category.

Re: kodak
Stock prices can be manipulated by market makers on the floor as well as large institutional stock holders who bailed out seeking greener pastures. The critical thing is business is profits not gross revenue. Would you rather own a business that grossed 100 million dollars in sales but showed no pro...

Re: Another new Super8 camera?
It was 77 or 78, that Arri showed a prototype pro super 8 camera at Photokina....but by then the video revolution had begun ...and super 8 had started a rapid downward spiral. Never went into production.

Re: Kodak rumors - new film stocks and hardware
VNF reversal stocks were not made for traditional home projection, they were made for projection on a TV film chain which then pops the colors and the contrast and makes it look " normal" and great for TV broadcast. In home projection ,the film has low contrast/ low color saturation....VNF...

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview
I believe film cost will come down drastically, in the future...due to new techniques in manufacturing being spurred by 3-d printing and 3-d bio-printing ( which could be adapted to film emulsions and make possible the return of Kodachrome). I will predict that in 10 years, super 8 will become stron...

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview
The film cost will have to come down to make Super 8 viable again. Perhaps, a Chinese manufacturing plant that can produce film for $15. at retail. I don't think Super 8 can be mainstream again until we can get film/with processing at $25. a cartridge. This is what Kodak has to achieve to make Super...
