RMS Granularity
Please don't dwell on small differences in the RMS Granularity number, which is measured at only one density level. When Kodak evaluates a film, a full "granularity curve" is normally used, that measures the grain structure over the full range of densities, and not just a single point. And...

Why 100D? This is a totally different animal and older technology. Why not the E100VS based stock like the 100EB, E100G, or E100GX which have finer grain than K40 from the technical spec? (RMS 8 vs RMS 9?) Am I missing something?  The E100D (7285) is already certified for motion-picture use, an...

Since K40 was tungsten balance, the first choice of a film to replace it would also be a tungsten balance. Given a choice, would E64T (7280) or E100D (7285) be the better choice for most Super-8 filmmakers? Standard SMPTE 166-2004 does specify a EI 100 Daylight notching, but like 64T, some non-stand...

Re: Super-8 Vison 2
Here's Super-8 I've shot Check out http://www.TaraBlaise.co.uk The B/W at beginning is Vision 200T, most of video is Super16 on 250D Later in video 200T again in caravan with band and waking along country road. I don't like K40, many of my films lost at lab. Ninja :? Very nice! 8) How was the Super...

Remember, the E-6 process can be easily pushed or pulled, so some labs may decide to offer a pulled process with an effective EI of 40 for those user who know their camera was incapable of exposing the film at the correct Exposure Index. For those who own these cameras that only see two speed notche...

That would mean (excuse me while I contain my snickering) that someone at Kodak would have to actually load a super 8 cart into a camera and shoot something. Now, how long do you think it's been since anyone remotely associated with Super 8 at Kodak has actually used the product? Maybe I'm a bit ja...

VISION2 Films
Normally, you should use the slowest film you have enough light for, so 200T would be preferred to 500T, even if you give 2/3 stop more exposure to the 500T to reduce graininess. But for flexibility, you may be willing to accept the slightly higher grain of the 500T film.
