Re: Recommend me a good tape splicer?

there is a manual for the CIR splicer at the bottom of my page:

http://www.ewancolsell.com/super8/

by the way, i also have CIR 8mm and super8 splicers for sale!(no 16mm or 9.5mm) these are splicers that i have saved an uncertain fate at various fleamarkets.

i didn't use it for anything serious yet, but its looking pretty good.

Re: How could I possibly be outbid on eBay?

things only get onto ebay if the seller thinks they are worth something,
fleamarkets are full of stuff that will probably just get thrown away if nobody buys it.

Re: which machine should i have to record on the sound stripe?

sounds doable, but realy depends on the editor, is there space in the film path to put it? and remember that the record head is ofset from the film gate, you have to get the same ofset or your sound track might be a bit out of sync when you project it i can imagine a simple ghetto style mod with a h...

Re: Aussie sick and tired of no-shows!

unless they give you a lot of money or a verry interesting experience, then they arent doing you a favor, they are getting something for nothing. Ie: directors or film makers. In answer to this, two things: When an actor is not paid, but is willing to act for a token amount, i believe it is conside...

Re: Aussie sick and tired of no-shows!

i just had to answer to this because i'm just the kind of person who cancells things when they get a proper job that day. whilst i'm sure that it's frustrating when people lose interest, you have to apreciate what its like to be a performer. everybody thinks they are doing you a favor. film director...

Re: Double 8mm developing tanks?

i just looked at the prices of these tanks on ebay, and promptly started to rethink the idea to develop my own films to save money!

maybe i should go to moscow to look around flea markets to sort myself out a pension plan by stocking up on film tanks and selling them on ebay!
