You notice how the negative message was left by someone that did not have the decency to lend their name to their message? Sounds like an outside detractor who does not even belong to this forum. Uh oh! Now they might have something to prove and use one of the tried and true names on this forum. Marc

The advantage you have over filmmakers is that you do not necessarily have to shoot at 24 frames per second. As a home movie maker, you can economize and shoot at 18 fps or, in th...

The important thing is that you use it and therefore maintain, continue and hopefully increase the demand for this product. The reason that so many people use it for filmmaking is because it is asthetically superior to video. If you use it for home movies in place of video for no other reason than b...

I have heard it rummored that, although there is no "official" setting for 24 fps on the 1218 , if you turn the knob slightly past the 18 fps mark you can get 24 fps out of it. Giv it a try!

with regards to the holes being of different sizes, I thought the only problem with that was the fact that john schwind puts his100' black and white on 16 millimeter spools which have a square slot for the shaft as apposed to the reg. 8mm 100 foot spools that have round holes. I have only shot his c...

As a final thought I would like to say that the American Indians were the most respectfull of their enviornment and they ate red meat. I think that the important thing about life and living is not to kill more than you have to, eat more than you have to or destroy more than you have to. As Krishnamu...

Tough pill to swallow? most of us swallowed that pill a long time ago when we saw countless footage of ours and/ or other people's home movie footage. That was our education in the difference between quality and simple trigger pulling. Perhaps that is what brought us all here. Our love of the concep...

Having a movie with a great story line is all the more reason not to "defile" it with flat pixaltion. And from the economic standpoint, if your story does suck, this is all the more reason to dress it up with that "asthetic opiate". And so what is wrong with making someon's movie...

reply to crimsonson

Paraphrasing crimsonson..... I cannot remember when a star wars fan talked about plot..etc. Well, maybe when you have a movie like Episode II that lacks the asthetic opiate necessary to blind us to a poor quality picture, these shortcomings become more apparent. Perhaps, this shows us how many films...
