Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!

I'm one of those slightly on the pessimisitic side about next Ferrania stock release. I mean: will I survive enough to see that wonderful promised stock come to light? But I really hope I'm wrong. And in case I'm wrong: can we help Ferrania to build a realistic demand curve? Anybody can answer to a ...

Re: Gossen Bolex info!

I'm sorry Luigi, but I really thought you were kidding! On a Gossen lightmeter if you make half a turn all the number go upside down, and if you make another half turn they go straight, and so on. It's just a circular slide rule, no electrical connection, I have a Sixtino, it works the same way. The...

Re: 3d printed super8 cartridge asa plug

I have a whole series to use with russian reloadable cardridges (first you have to widen the notch because it is rated IE 50) with some scrap plywood cutted with an x-acto knife. A bit cheaper than a 3d printer!

Re: What reversal Super8 films do you use?

I never had trouble with Fomapan R100. Not in DS8 an not in S8 in Kaccema. And many more shoot Fomapan without complaints. It is only you obeservation. Possibly your slitter doesn't slit smooth enough? Then transport may be hampered by the side-pressure springs near the gate. Cheapest source (besid...

Re: What reversal Super8 films do you use?

At the moment I shoot almost only Tri-x: I bought some carts from Pac Lab in NYC last september: B&H was cheaper, but when I was there it was closed due to Sukkoth holidays. But usually I buy from John Schwind, definetly the best option also if you buy from here, in Italy. Thanks John. I've got ...

Re: regular 8 finished.

Thank you John for the effort you did in making R8mm cheaply available. I still have few spools I bought from you in my refrigerator: I keep them for some important occasion! I always DIY process my films in a Lomo tank, and I'll go on using small gauge films (both R8 and S8) until it willl be possi...

Re: Super 8 stuff in Hamburg/Bremen?

In Hamburg, walking up from Simon-von-Utrecht-Straße, I don't remember if still in Kleine Freiheit, or in Bernstorffstraße, on the right hand side, but shouldn't be difficult to find, there's a nice second hand shop. Last december I bought a perfect Canon 514XL for 18 euros. I already knew tha...

Re: Agfa confuses me

I just read the promising report on wittner web site (in english: http://translate.google.it/translate?sl=de&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=it&ie=UTF-8&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wittner-kinotechnik.de%2Fhome.php&act=url). Quite enthusiastic about the PE support. But being myse...

Re: Check out this new 16mm film on Mr. Edward Nowill

This little film is amazing. And Mr. Nowill became my new hero. I have to find some exotic 16mm stock to have it reperfed by him, if nothing as a homage to his genius.
From the same filmaker (Rosie Carr) I love also "This Place where nothing ever happens".

Looks very interesting. While shooting did you leave the 80A filter in, or not?

Re: 16mm Developing Tank Centre Fogging

Yes, probably the white stuff makes things worst. But I know the problem: even if my cup is black, with my (50 ft) Lomo tank I always make the first steps in very subdued safety red light. I only switch on the light after 30 seconds in the bleach (for b/w) or after 30 seconds in color developer (for...

Re: SANKYO -- the forgotten contender?

Very nice thread, even though it will make Sankyo prices fly... I haven't any Sankyo camera, but I've got two Sankyo projectors that never let me down: a Dualux 1000, nice and gentle with film, variable speed, almost pocketable, it can stay in a backpack, good if you have to go at frends' hom...

Re: Goko A-203 Viewer/Editor - How to Use with S8?

My A-203 has a two sided sprocket wheel: you must pull it out and reverse it
(there should be a plastic retaining ring, but if it is missed the sprocket stays secured anyway). Then turn the big screw as super8man says.

Re: PTC 1. The next step.

I'm talking transfer effects mainly so don't see a problem adjusting a little. yes, in this I agree with you. There's also been a few shot at 24, others at 18fps- wouldn't it be better to adjust for that? mmh, here I must say that I don't agree that much with you... When we decided the rules for PT...
