Well, everything depends on budget, but I bought a second hand one from a local camera shop. I got a sekonic studio delux(l-398) in box with all original items for 175. It is more expensive than any film camera I own. I'm sure you could get one cheaper from ebay, but you have the old problem with eb...

The idea seems sound, both I feel like we may be missing a variable.

Remeber, when you calibrate the lighting for the grey card, it is going to be calibrated to a certain film speed. So if you change film speeds, adjust stops accordingly.

good luck with it

Nice to see he keeps in touch.

Does anyone know why the real Eastman took his own life? I've always wondered about that.

Kids, kids, kids...Don't cha see. No one brought up the idea of a new cam but Nigel, and he was using it as a negative. He was being sarcastic, he even said so. Building a new cam is like saving Kodachrome. Fine idea but not gonna happen. I have a buddy that makes superhero dolls. It costs him $5000...

Just sharing a happy event re: 16mm

As some of you may recall, last year, as I was running from Hurrican Jean, I went to Georgia and shot my first reel of 16mm. I happly sent it off and when it came back there was a note that said, "No Image." After I was done crying, I posted to see if anyone had any idea what had happen. A...

Glad to hear you're getting back into it. What made you decide to return to small format film making? What are you planning on shooting? Is this a hobby or part of your business?

Nice to have you aboard

I don't have a problem with people asking the same old questions over again. I realize that some people get tired of it, so they can just not respond.

FAQs are great, but personal attention is best. Never miss a chance to make a new friend.

Shane, don't drive yourself crazy. Get a lightmeter. You can get a very good analog meter for less than 200 bucks. If you are on a tighter budget, you can find something for around 50. Check at your local camera store.

It just makes life alot easier.

Good luck with filming!
