i also have an 814xle and when i run it the little spinner in there spins. the same is true for my 814 az. i am afraid you might have a problem on your hands. the 814's are bitchin' cameras, i hope you can get it working!

hey tim! i was just nerding out on the specs for our cameras (auto zoom) vs. auto zoom electronic. the electronic specs note a macro setting, where our specs do not. there must be a way to get a good macro with this camera without having to glue things onto it. i don´t think i´d have the coura...

canon 814 auto zoom filter etc

hey all, i´ve just fallen in love with my newly found camera. i got some questions, though. is it normal that in bright sunlight the electronic eye pegs the needle at over exposure? i read about a filter or something, is that an external gizmo that goes on the lenz or have i overlooked a switch (...

canon 814 auto zoom light meter

hello, i just got an 814AZ and am trying to understand the light meter. with 1.5v batteries it seems to work in relatively low light, but in bright sunlight it pegs on the left. when i put in the zinc air 1.4v batteries it seems to work sporadically. i am new to this. a simple explanation of how the...
