To say that downloads are the future is premature to say the LEAST. There are so many things to consider if physical media was to ever go down the tube. 1) Like everyone has already said, the technology of today is not really up to the demands of the masses. Well, not unless you're willing to spend ...

What do you guys reckon about this Eumig Mark 610D and this Sankyo 700 Super 8 Sound ? They're only $50 and $100 respectively so far (I'm only willing to go up to $100 for a projector), and they both seem to be in incredible condition, apart from the fact that both have not had film run through them...

Super 8 Film Projectors
I finished shooting 2 rolls of 64T Ektachrome and have sent them off for processing (I'm doing it at Nanolab, since it's cheaper compared to DVD Infinity even though I'm sending them to Victoria). I'm excited about the results, good or bad! I met a few people recently that have offered me the opport...

Any tips for shooting on E64T?
I've finally got my hands on a couple of rolls of Kodak Ektachrome 64T film! Had to go all the way to DVD Infinity to buy it =/ Then Kodak emailed me back and told me of another store that sells S8 film (ironically it's only a few blocks away from DVD Infinity!) I was hoping to shoot a few test roll...

johnnhud's right. I was just about to suggest the same thing. Forget about trying to find a sound S8 camera. Silent cameras are a LOT easier to find, and a lot more of them were made. Syncing sound is VERY easy in any NLE suite as long as you have the clapper sound and correct footage. In Avid, all ...

Super 8 Telecine methods
I went to Kodak's website and they have a pretty comprehensive list of labs in Australia that can process Super 8 film. I've emailed DVD Infinity, and for just ONE 50ft roll, they charge a whopping $79! Please tell me that's not what is expected! Anyway, I've found (by chance, mind you!) a few local...

I'm glad that my experience with ebay buying my S8 camera is over! It's a gruelling process, but if you persevere it's well worth it, especially when your efforts nab you a good deal on a working camera! Here's what I did: 1) Do LOTS of research. Super8Wiki, and forums like this are an utterly inval...

The 1014E is a very noisey camera, might quiet down with frequent use if the lube have dried up a bit. It's a very difficult camera to open up. Not economical to get it serviced. Shoot a roll and see first. Bill Not economical? Around how much do you reckon it is? It sounds noisy but still 'OK' whe...

I was wondering if you guys knew any place in Australia (preferrably Sydney) I could go to repair this camera? I was able to clean the contacts (the ones in the side compartment too, not just the hand grip cap) and get the motor running again, but the motor sounds really bad; I think it needs to be ...

Canon 1014 Autozoom Electronic help & repairs
So I finally got the camera - a beautiful looking Canon 1014 Autozoom Electronic! As the seller had described, there was corrosion in the battery cap and the screw to keep the cap in place had its threads worn off (so you pretty much had to HOLD the cap in yourself). As a temporary solution he place...

I reckon part of the deal here is that they're making such a BIG deal about prosecuting those average people. They're flaunting the success of the capture of that old woman who copied one or two dvds as if the CIA busted a major international drug ring. But then what happens is that rather than maki...

HAhaha that's a pretty close-minded reason by LionsGate. Movie and music studios really need to open the gates of possibility a lot more, and maybe put a LITTLE faith into something that won't make em a million bucks a minute but is beneficial to the future of the distrubution of entertainment media...
