Re: Canon 310 XL question

I just checked with my 310xl and when I open the film compartment and look through the the gate i see that the aperture is closed. When I pull the trigger it starts running and you can see it opening/closing at 18fps. So it does seem your aperture is stuck in the open position...

Re: Zoom in to focus technique?

Yes. I always check my diopter before a shoot.

It's just a few shots that are out of focus.. Its just that they're REALLY out of focus, not just a little bit soft.. So that makes me think something must be wrong with the lens.

What is collimation gonna set me back do you guys think?

Re: Zoom in to focus technique?

Nah the macro lever stays solid in its position.. I think the lens needs recollimination, the one thing I was dreading..

Oh well, anyone suggestions on where to have it done, and how expensive it would be?

thanks

Zoom in to focus technique?

Hi there y'all.. I've been using this technique ever since i started shooting super8. First with a Canon 814E, now with a B4008 ZMII. The footage i got back with the 814E always came out sharp. But some of the footage ive been getting back from my Beaulieu came out soft. Some shots really a lot out ...

Re: Film price from Wittner

Living in the US, why would you want to buy film from wittner??? I mean, the example that you're giving of 22.61 euros is 32.23usd.. I don't get why you would wanna pay that much for a cart when you can get a cart of vision2 for 19usd and a cart of tri-x for 14.50usd from bhphotovideo.com.. You'd be...

Re: 100D downhill clip, transferred with FlashscanHD.

looks sick... any update yet on the software for negative transfers on the flashscanHD?

And how did you scan this clip? Was this super8 with a widened gate or did you crop the top and bottom?

Nice post.. Any more info on the film itself? I use my film gear almost exclusively to shoot surfing, so I'm very interested in this. Looks like you guys got some waves!

Re: 8mm and 16mm film transfers to HD

So do you have some samples of transferred super8 to HD?

I have almost 1000ft of super8 vision2 waiting to be scanned, but you guys sound pretty reasonable pricewise.. I'd love to see some HD samples.

Re: Lens support/mattebox for B4008ZMII

Alright I'm sure I don't need it, but yah it def looks cool :D And I do really needthe lens support, I'm getting new longer lenses which are gonna be pretty hard on the B4008's c-mount... Anyways about the viewfinder, about a month ago I was shooting in morocco under a very bright sun. With the sun ...

Re: Lens support/mattebox for B4008ZMII

Alright thanks!! How does that work though? Do you slide it over the original rubber eyepiece or does it come with a screw-on piece so you can mount it to the Beaulieu's viewfinder?

Re: Lens support/mattebox for B4008ZMII

Inspired by the images posted above, I took my crippled ZMII and decided to try to take off the pistol grip handle. I figured the camera would sit much more stable on a tripod's head without the handle, and with heavier lenses I thought that might improve image stability. Anyways, to my surprise, th...

Re: another tri-x video

Dude this clip is bomb! I love it.. The tri-x look fits the style of the music really well.. Did you do everything (write/direct, DP, edit) yourself?
