Re: Checking in again - new purchase!

Well I just wanted to post back saying I got my Yashica disassembled partially and used a combination of a VERY light coat of white lithium grease and some TriFlow in some of the harder to reach spots and the camera now purrs like a kitten rather than wailing like a banshee. I hope it stays in good ...

Checking in again - new purchase!

Well with many new expenses and tons of working hours I have not had much chance to further develop my 8mm film shooting hobby. As some of you may remember I have a collection of mainly regular 8mm and one univex 8mm movie camera. I haven't developed my camera collection much recently (no pun intend...

Re: 7363 stock - fair pricing?

James, I send out all of my processing B&W to Film and Video Services and while I do include a notification that the stock is 7363, I do not think it requires any other considerations (compared with say CineX). The film is extremely slow - exposed at 10 ASA I got some good exposures, although be...

Re: 7363 stock - fair pricing?

Mat I've found that R8 film is an outrageously priced comodity these days. I seldom can afford to shoot film, but the flip side is that I usually try to make it count when I get it. :) The film I'm planning on selling was bought from a reputable ebay seller in its current state. He mentioned the nam...

Re: 7363 stock - fair pricing?

Yes, it has been reperforated for regular 8mm cameras. Works well, feeds smoothly through both of my cameras.

7363 stock - fair pricing?

OK so I bought a bunch of Kodak 7363 film stock that was reperfed for regular 8mm. Not 100% sure on its age, but I am 100% certain that it will develop nicely. In fact I was surprised at how "normal" it came out. It definitely has an odd thing where the red is a "velvety" black a...

I have the same camera, and have researched and posted extensively here about it. Univex Straight 8 is the same perforation and pitch as regular double 8mm film, only it is slit in half. I don't know if Kahl film will work or not, but John Schwind will slit and spool film for you if you provide him ...

Thanks for the responses guys. I will call Film and Video Services sometime this week and ask them if they can process the film, and I will post up their response here for the future. Hand processing is an option for me - I am no stranger to using tanks and reels with still cameras anyway, but I hav...

http://www.rwhirled.com/landlist/landdcam-pvis.htm I would suggest looking at the brief article on the Polaroid Land List. I am a lifetime Polaroid enthusiest, but I don't have much interest in Polavision. It represents the beginning of the end for Polaroid. Had they been able to mobilize the techno...

Straight 8mm processing

Hi everybody. I have an old Univex sub miniature movie camera, and I believe i have found two film spools for them as well. I recently fired off an email to John Schwind and he tells me he's willing to slit and respool some Cine-X black and white stock for me to shoot. The question I have is how I s...

OK, let me update this post - it's been quite a while I know, but I finally found something to film and sent it out to Film and Video Services. Shooting this TriX, emulsion number 7207, I found best results lie between 40 and 80 ASA. This is actually pretty nice film stock, so I think I'll shoot out...

Dwayne's Photo and Film and Video services are the two places that process my film - Dwayne's for color (they do either E6 "Ectachrome", or K14 "Kodachrome), and FVS does my black and white. I second looking for John Schwind's website - I've bought from him several times in the past. ...

Having never shot super 8, I can't say too much about super 8 cameras, but I agree that regular 8mm has the market cornered on weird cameras. That said, I tend to have a soft spot for turret cameras. Something about that droopy three-eyed appearance... Lots of Bolex fans among the R8 crowd. I have n...

Your favorite 8mm movie camera and why...

I was looking over my camera collection tonight - I have most of it in my dorm room right now and I was looking over my two (working) 8mm movie cameras, and I was thinking about some of my favorite cameras. For still photography, I prefer my RicohFlex IIIb by far. It's pretty much the cheapest Ricoh...
