I am wondering the same thing. I used to frame-blend (interlace) everything via Dodcap for smoother playback on standard TV's. Am I better off keeping everything Progressive now (especially with the advent of the newer progressive scan TV's?) Johnhud, sounds like you'd recommend keeping it off for e...

I'm guessing that the newer HD camcorders will prove to be the way to go for HD transfers.

I just picked up a Marantz PMD660. It's a solid-state recorder that uses CF cards and will record at 48kHz and 44.1kHz uncompressed. There are XLR outs as well. It runs around $500. After using a Sony MD for a couple of years, I think this setup produces much better sound. Although the MD is compact...

so, a very high quality HDV workprinter transfer could look like this: - capture single frames at 1080i (1440x1080 pixels with 1.33 aspect), (if you really want to max it, use the analog/HD-SDI output and an uncompressed capture card) I think the question was asked if Dodcap is capable of capturing...

Re: Moviestuff & Tobin machines
There are some comparison clips at my web site, http://www.pingpongmedia.com . (If you get a codec error from the downloaded video, please don't yell at me. I'm trying to get it worked out ... arrgh!) What codec did you use for the two mpg clips? I don't see where there was a codec embedded in the ...

Reading through the entire Bible has turned me off to religion. I now see that it's about a relationship, not religion. Being a free man is awesome.VideoFred wrote:

(Just kidding of course... ) Tobin Systems - 480 lines - $3600 S8 only DV Sniper - 480 lines - $2690 Dual8 + a heck of a support person Hmmmm.... Which one??? Dave

DV SD to HD for Sniper app / Cinecap?
Hi All, I sent Roger a note on this to get his thoughts, but I know he's on vacation in Utopia  Anyhow, Canopus has a new product (Edius 3) that reportedly can use mixed sources (standard def, and high def) and output to HD 1080x1920 in realtime from these mixed sources. However, they talk abou...

Wow. Reminds me of my school days at R.I.T. The project was to set up a still life shot and shoot it with 4x5 tri-x on three sheets of film. We used Hoya filters - they used to make a set of three POP filters which represented the Red, Green, and Blue values needed. Then in the darkroom, we were to ...

I ordered one too from the same company. They responded back with a refund and an explaination that they had done some testing and were very dissapointed with the results. It sounded like they purchased them from another source and hadn't really looked at them. So, they decided to pull them from eBa...
