Then, you could bi-pack it with another piece of the film, emulsion to emulsion, and run it through a projector to print it!

I think it was Yale then Cine Lab and both were good. Exposing it is the difficult part and I learned a lot. I shot both 8mm regular and 16mm films.

It is of interest because I used to send my high contrast movie film to Andec but this may be a way to self process some.

Do a short test first. Rip off a few inches and put into developer and see how long it takes to get black. Something less than that time will be how long to develop. It may be done in the light.
Big developing houses do such short tests first.

110mm film reels, spiral, fit 8mm film but only short lengths. Lomo reels are white plastic and are longer than the stainless steel reels. They are good for testing how to develop movie film.

i also believe standard 8 is a closer relative to 16 and would be a better format for teaching photographic technique.

That is the way I had to do it with Summit Film Lab, now closed. Results were excellent.
Call the lab first. DIY 50'/100' spool to be sure you keep all parts.
