it happened to my Bolex double super8 too. The first frames were in focus then , with the speed up it was out of focus, but not very much, still useable, it depends by focal lenght and iris f/stop.
good luck

AJ wrote: The information in the single frame is limited with 480x640 you are already on the max. i think to calculate the film grain is different (and very difficult) from that ccd pixel matrix. Every film frame has a different resolution depending on many factors like film ASA, correct exposure, c...

Re: my k25 Super16mm videoclip on Vimeo
Hi looks great but It looks like video to me, more electronic than film look. I know that it´s hard to tell this through Vimeo, but do you use some filter in post like sharpen or grain reduction? Hi avr, it is exactly Kodachrome, i didn't use any filter like grain reduction (invisible in K25 S16...

With the exception of the contrast, it looks like 35mm. marc, i recently discover a technique to lower the contrast of Kodachrome film: 1) shot the entire roll to a white screen underexposing about 5 stops. 2) reload and shot regularly. t...

Re: DIY super8 datacine 2K
ciao thepelell yes, the film is intentionally a bit overexposed, to avoid the heavy contrasty look of kodachrome/wittnerchrome. I think that the main point is not only the number of pixel, i know very well usb/firewire machinevision cams, a 3ccd system outperforms always a single chip especially for...

Re: DIY super8 datacine 2K
hi Fred this was shot with a widened gate Bolex DS8 camera. The film is Wittnerchrome 40. As you can see the film is not very steady as expected from a DS8 camera, the strange thing is that the other side, that i used tho shot underwater, is absolutely steady, like a 16mm camera. Perhaps i loaded wr...

i have tried ,time ago, to develop cine film but i made a disaster loading the developing tank. if the technology, after 150 years, can help us, well why not . BTW, i would see the image via Sony Glasstron, similar look like nightvision, so no light dispersion. the main problem is the infrared illum...
