heh heh heh. Its going to take some getting use to. Indianna Jones just should not be 60 years old. He just shouldn't. I can't help but think that as he was swinging back and into that truck that we would hear him yell, "My hip! I think I broke my hip!"

I have also done this with a Canon 814e. I set the camera on a tripod and set it to "single frame" mode. Then I opened my digital file on my mac, blew it up full screen and zoomed in and set the focus on the camera. I left the camera on auto exposure. I then hit the plunger to take a singl...

Brightlight. This is VERY important. Make sure that your audio has been captured at 48Khz. This whole problem might be because you are trying to sync audio that has been recorded at 44.1Khz by laying it down on a DV timeline that is 48Khz. DV audio records at this higher bitrate and I have also had ...

You can even slow down or speed your source video to sync it to the audio. Just keep frame blending off to keep your progressive scan. I have had many projects that ended up playing back at 17.5 frames per second as opposed to a true 18 frames. Obviously this will only work if it's used sparingly as...

Lucas felt "it looks like it was shot three years after Last Crusade. The people, the look of it, everything. You’d never know there was 20 years between shooting." Apparently Indi drank from the wrong cup after all. Instead of eternal life he has aged rapidly! I'm not sure if I'm ...

I am wondering the same thing. I used to frame-blend (interlace) everything via Dodcap for smoother playback on standard TV's. Am I better off keeping everything Progressive now (especially with the advent of the newer progressive scan TV's?) Johnhud, sounds like you'd recommend keeping it off for ...

Yours is nice and crisp--perfect for dialog. Picture looks good. Was the white pillbox hat worn by every women at the wedding? It's been a while but I seem to remember it was worn by the bridal party. I completely disagree with using tape to record sound. The issue is that with super8+tape you have...

How about if you shot film and set up a miniDV camera to record the audio? Since it's digital it shouldn't need the crystal sync to keep it in time. If you use a clap board, you should just have to manually sync each clip one time as long as your using fresh batts in the camera. Worst case would be ...

Re: Sound Sync is great!

The sound sync is perfect. Any slight slip isn't noticeable. What a great feel, though! I love the look and actually having sound. The only thing I'd suggest would be to try and cut the "ok, go" that you can hear before some of the interviews. Seems a little amateur to heard the director ...

I'd love to see some footage posted that was done without a crystal sync camera. Anyone have results? Again, here is a link to some footage that I shot on S8 with a handheld tape recorded for sound. http://web.mac.com/johnnhud/iWeb/Site/Clips/7CB2F37A-0428-45FA-9B04-92CFFCD4C37A.html Take a look at...

Do you know how to sync film clips and audio together in FCP when using a slate? It's pretty cool and simple especially when you know the short keys. I do. I didn't use a slate because I was at a wedding and didn't have an assistant. Come to think of it though, a shot of the clapper in front of eac...

I did the very same thing at a wedding a few years ago. I shot in S8 and used a hand held tapedeck that I held out infront on the camera, just under the view of the lens. The sync was entirely wild, but what I found was that with fresh batteries in both the camera and the tape deck, I had an almost ...

If you want a true 1 to 1 copy of your transferred film, do NOT check Frame Blending. The beauty of a WorkPrinter is it's ability to scan fully progressive images (even with a non-progressive camera) and assign 1 frame of film to 1 frame of video. By enabling Frame Blending your are essentially doin...
