'80s flashback

I was just surfing the web when I came to one of these babies! The Fisher-Price PXL2000 "Pixelvision" camera first released in 1988 for $99.00! URL: http://www.retrothing.com/2005/11/fisherprice_pxl.html Wow and then I got to thinking wait my friends and I used to play with one of our olde...

Clapper/Slate Shopping

I am looking at buying a clapper for sound work and I found Hollywood Dream Factory in Ohio. They seem to have very good slates. URL: http://www.hollywooddreamfactory.com/pages/clappers.htm “We use the finest materials around. Our boards are durable, tempered hardboard with a special chalkboar...

Well I don’t know why in the world you would want to shoot Super 8 when the cost is almost the same as 16mm. Here are my figures: $8.00 for Tri-x with student discount and $12.50 for processing at Fordes in Seattle. Total price $20.50 not bad. But $15.00 for 16mm Tri-x with student discount a...

Update and a question

Well today I called Kodak and asked about the student film discount for the first time. I told the man that I go to a high school and not a university and he responded right on the spot after a quick hang on “Yeah I’ll give you the 30% student discount” when I asked if I need to f...

Hehehe I like Sundance. I have something in the works right now I might look at sending in maybe 2007. I do live two hours away from Park City.

Cheers for Sundance! :p

I guess I would do it. Idaho has plenty of Scenic stuff that people like. Perhaps I could even hop down to Jackson Hole Wyoming, Park City Utah, Moab Utah (Arches National Park), or Yellowstone National Park in Montana (All of those are less then a few hours away from where I live). I’...

Light Meter

Hey team, I have a bit of a request for you. I really need a light meter! I am amazed how far I have gone without one but now that I have a serious camera and will be putting serious money into film I figure I better get with the program and come to you all. I am looking for a decent working light m...

Yes I feel like I’m in a pickle I don’t know what to do! There are a few websites that offer new batteries for $100.00 (USD) but that seems a bit to steep for the kind of work being done. So I may just want to make a modification but this camera isn’t mine so I can’t do a...

Okay help is required from R 16 owners: I have seemed to run into a bump in the road the two batteries that I have work but at the 24/25fps rate they can only but about 1 to 2 100 feet rolls through my camera before it slows down and the batteries die. Hummm that is not very good. What are my option...

Yep I have put 100 feet of old developed film through it 3 times and she ran like a charm! I just feel so lucky because most people don't have access to such a nice camera. I really hope you all have great luck like me. In fact I bet there are more people out there on this board who deserve this mor...

Well I can't it’s not mine. And I don't have weeks to wait for it to be shipped over seas. I need it in a month for a shoot.

I think it runs just fine. But I will have to see. 8)

My new Beaulieu R 16!

Wow what a day this has been! :P To make a long story short, my small town has a production company, and I have worked with them for a little while and they don't really work much with film anymore so they lent me a beautiful Beaulieu R 16 with a nice Angenieux 12-120mm zoom lens! It has its origina...
