Yes, we have the opportunity to shoot Super 8 that isn't drenched in contrast right outta the box! :)

The negs are **fantastic**!!

11. Set to shoot over a thousand undead at http://www.torontozombiewalk.ca/2009_fiendraiser.html ...for 8 Fest. B/W or color? Oh, oh, at least *some* colour for the blood..... Do you have plans to engineer/retro-fit a wet-gate system? This is the Achilles heel in Super 8 transfer systems as dust/ha...

Re: FlashscanHD updated, capable of neg. transfers.

Great news. Does "capable" mean that it does it well? Most any xfer setup can be used for the negs - you just white balance for each scene, (if you can - we use Sony Z5U), invert in post and CC, ideally w/Cineon Converter,(to smooth the big grain of 500T), but it's not necessary as autoco...

Re: DIY Telecine Question

I did a little reading on the topic and it seems LED sources do not emit infra red. I don't think they emit UV either, so......

Generally, more filters = less resolution.

Not.

Re: DIY Telecine Question

Does it help to add a ir/uv filter before the ccd camera? if so what will it improve on the final image? I am using a led as the light source. Interesting question. You could try inserting the filter while running a test reel and see immediately what results..... In order to avoid multiple posts, o...

Re: New 8mm music video on 64T.

I think the slightly underexposed backlight shots are actually what makes it look like authentic amateur footage. Isn't that the idea? Yep. He was after the look "an amateur just spontaneously shooting a summer party". I don´t remember if he was happy or unhappy with the backlight scen...

what didn't "work"? the website, the password, the actual clip? My brain >> I clicked on the link here, which is always problematic, instead of opening a new tab and pasting the link in the url, which I just did, and which worked perfectly. And so....Wow! Looks fantastic. Locations, casti...

Re: Colour correcting negative film

You'll need a filter pack between the projector lamp source and rear of gate - turqoise w/lots of blue. Got a specific filter ID number for this if I were to look it up in the photography catalog? Sorry, no - I got one of those sample swatch booklets from the local camera rental place (WFW) years a...

Re: Colour correcting negative film

In Premiere Pro 2.0, apply "invert", "cineon converter", then "autocolor". Adjustments can be made in "cineon converter", most notably "10 bit white point". Should do the trick. If xferring yourself, the negs should generally look purplish-brown, not...
