I heard a lot of used 35mm cameras were being bought by students in China or maybe that market has now dwindled.

Re: Nizo "app"
I checked out some of the sample video's on my Android device and it hated them until I put it into desktop mode. Or, since they claim people using their App can get motion picture quality and become film makers, I should've tried running it through a Eumig or Century? Ha! Anyway, I was curious who ...

Re: Kodak Film Prices
We still don't know what price Kodak will want for their 16mm Ektachrome but hopefully it will be affordable. If Kodak follows their current pricing structure 100' of 16mm Ektachrome would be US$60. Reperf that into Double Run Standard 8mm and a 25' roll could be had for $15, or perhaps $20 if one ...

Re: 7363 is back
Doesn't look too bad. You say this film can be had for $10. Is that for 100' of 16mm and is this fresh film or end rolls?

Re: Archiving
Will2, If you're storing old film possible future vinegar fumes from the film might affect the USB drive. It might be wise to wrap the drive up in something to protect it. Just a thought. Mechanic, I thought this type of archival process was already being offered. Maybe you should check the going pr...

Re: Kodak Film Prices
The prices of Super 8 are off the charts now. I thought Kodak was continuing support of this small format so film makers could learn on it before moving to the larger formats. There's no point in Super 8 anymore as one might as well use 16mm, the price difference is so close. This must be driven by ...

Re: The State of Double Super 8
My Kodak rep is looking into it. I love that. I makes me sound important. :) He was as curious as me on this one though. I would expect it to be a $5,000 minimum or so. That's a lot of Double Super 8. Just wondered if Kodak's cleaners got back to you offering 50,000 feet of Double Super 8 Ektachrom...

Re: Battery Suggestions
Looks like it's shrink wrap tubing they used. If you want to do it on the cheap you could try doing it yourself. Total cost around $60. Rechargeables have certainly come down in price. Good luck.

For those that have not already seen this.
A nice 15 minute presentation of the new Super 8 Ektachrome 7294 versus the old Ektachrome 7285 by Ignacio Benedeti the Spanish Super 8 enthusiast.

The new Ektachrome looks great.

Re: 7363 is back
I watched your sample film a few times and it made me dizzy. I suppose you were on a see saw? Good effect. If you made it into a loop and projected it on a giant screen it could make a good side alley attraction. And I thought the opening scene of GoldenEye made one feel dizzy.

Re: Kodak 50D Super 8 (max 8) Sample
So at what focal length does the image cover the Max 8 area without corner light loss? Do any of the Max 8 camera conversions have recentered lenses?
It's too bad 1.5 x anamorphics are so expensive as that would allow the film to keep it's soundtrack and be projectable.

Re: Kodak Film Prices
That's an interesting table you've put together and shows what a big price difference there is per square mm between Super 8 and the larger gauges. Sure there is some added cost with loading the cartridge but roll film needs to be loaded on rolls and packaging costs would be similar for both. You're...

Re: Kodak Film Prices
If and when Kodak releases ektachrome in 16mm, there will be more semi pros and film students ordering it. Apologizes for dropping back into this discussion. If Kodak sells Ektachrome 16mm for less than US$120 a 100' roll I'll be stepping up my campaign. It's not fair to have such a big difference ...

Re: Kodak Film Prices
To address the claim that the film component is only a small part of the total cost I would like to present to you Exhibit B. That is the price difference between 16mm and 35mm. Example; 16mm 400' Vision 3 200T Negative US$176.88 35mm 400' Vision 3 200T Negative US$316.56 The other types of emulsion...

Re: Kodak Film Prices
Amazed at all the excuses some people are coming up with to justify Super 8's high prices. The Ektachrome film has gone from AUS$35 to AUS$66 in 5 years. I'm not sure what the US price was 5 years ago but it wasn't US$35. It was probably around US$25. If cartridge cost was a problem then Kodak would...
