Re: New Universal pricing w/free shipping!

Some day I hope your stuff will work natively using MacOS, without having to run Windows in Bootcamp or Parallels/VM Ware.

I saw this on Instagram today and it was the best news I’ve heard in a very, very, long time.

Re: Super 8 Max Projector

Ah I see. Yes, I knew converting a camera was a fairly easy task by just widening the gate, but was not aware of the more complex task of projector conversion. I was only interested in a projector conversion for the purposes of projecting Super 8 Max. So, I’ll be sticking with normal Super 8, then. ...

Re: Super 8 Max Projector

But you’re talking about running Super 8 Max through an un-modified projector right? If the projector was modified it would be fine? I mean, what’s the difference between modifying a camera and modifying a projector? Does a camera not require the same edge space when exposing the film?

Does the auricon actually burn in the sound on the optical track while filming? wouldnt the light fog the rest of the film?
Yes, it does, and no it doesn’t.

Re: Kodak prices

Please note that Kodak increased price of all Super 8 products to $29.99 from $25.95. This is the price on the Kodak site. The price from B&H and other resellers is higher. Is this a hint for the price of the new E100? Actually $29.99 wouldn't be too bad but I have a feeling the E100 price will...

Super 8 Max Projector

Has anyone made the modification to a projector for projection of film shot in the Super 8 Max format?

(Yes, I know Pro 8mm markets this as “Max 8” but I think it’s a poor name and inaccurate)

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview

I talked to some of the younger generation today at Church about Super 8mm film. Basically in their 20's. There was an absolutely not all-around consensus. They want nothing to do with 8mm. And it wasn't like "Hey that's pretty cool retro". It was a firm "no". In Kalamazoo, MI? ...

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview

Price is way too high to get the general public interested. Heck, even an enthusiast. Not interested in this camera, but rather the film and processing.

Even a reporter for the NYTimes doesn’t know the difference between film and Video

Even a New York Times reporter doesn’t seem to understand the difference between film and video. He’s probably too young to even remember 8mm film:

He calls the Zapruder Film a 26 second “Home Video”

Re: Any way to do sync sound?

I used to do sync sound with S8 in digital form, which still proved difficult due to the camera drift. The only real bet for S8 sound is the new Kodak camera coming out maybe next month, and more in the fall. Crystal sync audio and on board SD recording. I wouldn't waste my time or money on any cum...

Re: Any way to do sync sound?

Get a 16mm Auricon Sound on Film camera. I had one. It projects in one of the huge Bell & Howell projectors that do optical sound. Editing is done on a Steinbeck flat bed editor with optical sound reader [url]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AwC5V1ySkY/url] But how did you edit the picture and ...
