Re: Zeiss Ikon Moviflex S8 questions/camera manual?
yeah, it uses a filter key, but also features a second pin in the film chamber for reading the Tungsten/Daylight notch setting. I've seen that sales brochure before, but it doesn't really go into the technical details of the camera. I've heard that the manual doesn't expand too much on the informati...

Zeiss Ikon Moviflex S8 questions/camera manual?
I just got a Zeiss Ikon Moviflex S8 camera and would love to find a free manual (from what I've heard it's not the best manual, so I'd ideally not have to pay $15 for a PDF), I'm hoping it will clear up some questions (or more likely it will not). everywhere I've been looking states that the camera ...

Re: Elmo F20 S-XL / 230 S-XL camera disassembly?
Thanks for the reply Andreas. Fortunately I was able to open the shell just enough for the part-in-question to slip out, so all if good now! If anyone here is unfamiliar with the Elmo f20s-XL, which I don't blame you you due to their rarity, it is really the best camera for wide-angle shooting. It h...

Elmo F20 S-XL / 230 S-XL camera disassembly?
Hi everyone, I recently got an Elmo F20 S-XL camera and noticed that a screw was missing (one of two between the trigger and the lens), and when I removed the matching screw to find a correct replacement an internal bracket loosened and is now rattling inside the camera. I wonder if anyone here know...

10mm Switar lens element swapping?
Hi all, I have two 10mm Switar AR c-mount lenses with issues and was hoping I may be able to get a working lens from combining elements from both. one lens is nearly pristine, except for having several deep scratches on the front element (that are visible in the viewfinder and on film images). The o...

Re: Nikon R8/10 question
I figured it out, i just needed to pull the rubber past the lip of the metal eyepiece... but hold the eyecup by the shorter sides and not the long tip (I ripped an eyepiece while pulling from the tip)

Nikon R8/10 question
Hi All, I have finally gotten my hands on a few R8/R10 cameras (most of them non-operational parts cameras) and I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove/replace the eye cup for these cameras? It feels really stuck in place (and on one of my parts cameras it is even moving the whole viewfinder a...

Re: CLA of cameras
yeah, Bluemoon only services still cameras (there isn't anyone I know of in Oregon which services motion picture cameras) and be careful with Photocenter, Marvin Meister does work on cameras but he seems to be very backlogged (my R8 has been with him since July 2020 and he never responds to my email...

Re: Bargain 35mm cameras and some more
the 35mm camera market isn't dead (I know a lot of people that still shoot it, and constantly see students about town shooting), it's just that the desired cameras are pre-80's as they are simpler, and sturdier, with fewer computers and auto-functions to malfunction (and auto-exposure and auto-focus...

Re: Ektachrome in hand!
I guess that means Portland has most of em (we have at least 5 camera stores which sell film and film-cameras, 3 of them nearly exclusively)

Re: The return of Ektachrome - CES 2017
I suspect that it will be the same price as the other Super8 stocks. Kodak recently upped the price of Tri-X to match the Vision3 stocks, which to me indicates that they're looking to simplify pricing.

Re: Sankyo EM-60XL issues?
yeah, I tried a dummy load and it didn't work. I would merely charge shipping for the camera should I "sell" it as is, but it seems a shame to use a camera in such otherwise amazing condition for parts. I want to get it fixed, and am willing to pay, if anyone has any suggestions (in America)
