Finding the average age of the super 8 user. Whats your age?

Post by newsuper8er »

Hey everyone :D

Ive been thinking recently, what kind of age groups use Super 8? Im 17, and i sit here thinking to myself; would anyone else my age be using super 8? or is it more people who where 17 years old when Super 8 was still triving in say . . the 70s?

Well like i said, thought it might be interesting to find out.

I started using super-8 (for stop-motion) when I was around 17 too!

Looking back I'm impressed that i managed to get such decent images with K40 lit by just 2 anglepoise lamps with 100w (i think) bulbs!

He he he :) I found these on ebay the other day, so i bought them, and they are only 100 watt!

I can see myself trying to light my little movies with them now (they havnt arrived yet). I hope K40 is forgiving. Im not even sure how much light i can get from 100 watt lamps :?

Hey thats cool :D ! I wasnt sure if any other people my age would be using film (Super 8 in fact). Do you live in the US?

Oh and i agree with you, its great that people our age know what film is anymore . . . although most of my friends are not so much 'Film' makers, but more 'video' makers.

31 - 40 -------> 43 % :!:

Maybe a nostalgic feeling?

Well, that´s my case, in part. :D

I don't think its all nostalgia. Video, not even my DVX can give the same results as film. Its great getting back into super8 after a 20 year absence.
