Do you guys ever filter your developer after some use?

Not too sure what to do when I see sediments and silver particles settling to the bottom of my developer bottle. Not sure if I should try shaking it to make it more consistent before I use it? Or try not to let the heavy sediments pour into the developing tank? I tried filtering it into another container through a coffee filter. Good move?
